February 11, 201213 yr Thank god you were right and he was wrong. Ulrik I can take in the final, Di Leva - NO! And David's clearly got the second spot wrapped up - what's all this hype he's whipped up out of nowhere? It's a great song but I do hope he's not a threat to Loreen. This mass random hysteria reminds me of Anna Bergendahl in the third semi two years ago, and we all know what happened there :drama: I don't know, but it doesn't surprise me it's popular - Shout It Out was the song Danny was sending to MF 2012 as 'To The Sky', I'm not sure if you'll remember from when the song titles were revealed. So, with the song being very Danny-esque, and him being popular, I'm guessing that sound helps?
February 11, 201213 yr Anna was in the final semi, Timoteij were in the third! My mistake! Still, you know what I mean, I thought it was Salem's to lose until she came along out of the blue, and I guess it was considering he came 2nd...
February 11, 201213 yr Yay, Michael Jackson's out :D (dodgy nose and all) That reaction for David is insane, far bigger than Loreen got last week unless I'm mistaken. She's in trouble now, mark my words :o I don't much buy into the Danny will take away David's votes argument, he and Eric managed to finish comfortably top two last year and poll almost half a million votes between them despite appealing to the same target audience!
February 11, 201213 yr Author DTG <- Ulrik, David AC <- Top Cats, Timoteij 5th: Di Leva 6th: Sonja 7th: Andreas 8th: Mimi Oh Pretty much certain this will happen after hearing the songs. Hopefully David can avoid getting higher than 5th though. SCARY how I originally got everything right
February 11, 201213 yr Yeah I think David could win this. And he could very well do as well as Eric last year.
February 11, 201213 yr I'm thinking Danny made a very silly decision ditching this - this could well win, and I would be DELIGHTED for it to do
February 11, 201213 yr It does sound 10 times better with each listen though, I'd not have a problem with Sweden sending this. The best song always gets left in 2nd-5th place in the MF final so nothing new there, Euphoria going to Eurovision would be too good to be true
February 11, 201213 yr Author Sonja is going to AC at least. This is my SHIRLEY'S ANGELS moment of OH TWELVE, I can FEEL IT. Noose at the ready! I seriously think David Lindgren is being overrated. Nobody knows who he is and the song isn't really all that for a newcomer (let's face it, it's no KOM!), I just think it overperformed in the gen rep as it went down well in the hall but won't translate well onstage. I mean, let's not forget that SEAN FUCKING BANAN won it last week! :D !!!
February 11, 201213 yr I was WRONG and am now weeping whilst listening to Sonja on repeat, noose at the ready after all. Med hjartat fyllt av ljus :(
February 11, 201213 yr Shaping up to be a good final, hopefully Timoteij can make it through AC. They MUST! I didn't spend 60 quid to not see them there!
February 11, 201213 yr I didn't sense much hype over Timoteij but I could more realistically see them in the final than Top Cats. Thorsten Flinck and Sean Banan would beat both of them at this stage though I think, we'll see what the next two semis bring in terms of AC qualifiers though...

The reaction for David was bound to be this way - he's singing what could have been Danny's entry, and Danny is one of the favourites! The difference this year is Danny's song might sound almost identical to David's. Danny also already has an established fanbase, as did Eric whereas David doesn't, so Danny may get his fan's votes, but people who like songs of this genre may vote for David if Shout It Out is the better of the two songs. At this point, I still think it'll be Loreen vs. Danny in the final. David may end up around 4th place. It all really depends on what this Youngblood track is like - that again could have an affect on Danny and David's votes.

I didn't realise until somebody pointed it out, I didn't study the original song titles in that much detail  It'll be easier to judge once Danny's song is revealed, and I know what you mean, but as much as fanbases help in getting certain acts to the final at the peak moment of their career regardless of the song (i.e. Ulrik is at his peak now, Timoteij were at theirs two years ago), I really think that people do vote for their favourite song in the final. The likes of Malena Ernman and Caroline Af Ugglas beating all of those big names in 2009, and Anna comfortably beating quite a few names in 2010 would back up my point I guess. The Swedish public have a tendency in getting whipped up into a frenzy over the most unexpected of songs and once that's happened, all talk of fanbases and voting patterns go out of the window as everyone stars to believe the hype and vote in their droves for 'the chosen one'. This hype was around Caroline in 2009 so I was midly surprised that she couldn't quite seal the deal - still it was 318,000 televotes to Malena's 322,000, and she performed 2nd to Malena's last, she did well to do as well as she did... I know Danny, David and Youngblood will pretty much appeal to the same demographic but Euphoria will appeal to the Hi-NRG pop voters too, except without the loony teenage girls to help it out, I hope that the quality of the song, despite being from the same genre, can carry it through.
February 12, 201213 yr It's not like the Sober cover was in any way nice, the spacing of the words was horrible
