Here's a new one with a poll and capital letters :D It's not a single (yet), but how high do you think 'Princess Of China' featuring Rihanna from the new Coldplay album will do on cherrypicks on the album's release week? I think it'll go top 20 with a chance of going top 10.
October 8, 201113 yr I think 21 - 40, maybe higher if Rihanna performs (anything) on The X Factor that week, people will search her other songs and find it. It also depends on how much of the song Rihanna does (we haven't heard it yet obviously)

October 8, 201113 yr Well, "Love The Way You Lie" entered at #7 with a good deal more hype and Eminem is more of a singles artist than Coldplay, plus I'd imagine that "Princess of China" won't scream I'M A MASSIVE HIT IN WAITING quite so clearly as LTWYL did. Bearing all that in mind, I'd be hugely surprised if it entered in the top 10 but it should be at least top 40, probably top 20. It and "Paradise" could actually be very close together - when was the last time an artist had two new entries in the top 20?

Rihanna's fanbase and Nicki/Eminem/Kanye/David Guetta/etc.'s fanbases are pretty much exactly the same people. Whilst Rihanna's and Coldplay's fanbases are completely different people. They're basically polar opposites. So I can't see it selling much. A lot of Coldplay fans hate Rihanna, and I can't imagine Rihanna fans would like Coldplay's music, even with her voice on it.

I see your point, it'll only really sell to Rihanna fans and people who are indifferent to both, given all Coldplay fans will just buy the album.

October 17, 201113 yr wow after one listen its amazing....very chinese sounding melody and riri and chris martins vocals make it sound like a classic already....if this is the third single it could be another million seller for coldplay and this could go top 40 on release if it gets talked about,sounds class!!
October 17, 201113 yr Occasionally songs come about where it doesn't matter what you think of the artist(s) involved. Any preconceptions disappear and the song speaks for itself. Its an obvious balls out huge #01.
October 17, 201113 yr I think it could at a push make top 20 on "cherry picks" week, though nothing would surprise me. Eventually this'll be at least a huge top 3 hit and sell something like 700/800k+ in total. It doesn't sound like them at all, it sounds like they hired someone to randomly add electronic beats to it.
October 17, 201113 yr Hmm, not sold on first listen but it won't miss the top 40 since the low-rent alternative (James Morrison and Jessie J) did reasonably.
