Was 'Got 2 Luv U' not available for pre-order (or has it not been released)? Seems odd it doesn't seem to be in either chart yet. Unless it just wasn't very popular at all.

Perhaps because its been brought forward a couple of weeks

Make You Feel My Love has been doing well enough since it stopped being 'shoved in the faces' of the UK public. It hasn't had a high-profile usage on TV (to my knowledge anyway) since it re-entered the top 40 after Britain's Got Talent but it's still spent a further 18 weeks in the top 100 since then. Plus, even when it was being shoved in our faces seeming once every few weeks it was holding up very well in the meantime. And after its last week in the top 10 (when it was used on Dancing On Ice) it still spent a further 12 weeks top 40 with no further major promotion, just some support from commercial radio.

I do wonder what on Earth is causing it to be doing so consistently well for such a long length of time in the USA though, surely it can't just be because of its UK success in the last year  'Set Fire To The Rain' is also doing amazingly well seemingly entirely off hype from its success in other countries. I wonder if SFTTR could even be another #1 for her in the USA (the 'post-album release effect' - we don't really have a name for that do we  - isn't as pronounced in the USA as it is here it seems, which addresses your point about her third single being likely to go top 10 in the USA).

I would say those people are more pleased than embarrassed as it would have mostly been fans of Adele that said that (including me). Personally I'm incredibly pleasantly shocked at how receptive US radio have become to Adele.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just found it a bit annoying though, since Adele's songs aren't exactly a whole lot different to some of the Usher/Beyonce/Rihanna/Mariah Carey/etc. songs that US radio have been hammering the past 10 years.

To be fair, I wasn't expecting Adele to be very successful in the US either, but at the same time, I did think US radio would happily play her if she did start getting popular.

I hope Got 2 Luv U goes top 10! I love the song so much.

I have a huge fear that a major earthquake is about to happen, which will mean that Labrinth's single won't be played. I mean, it happened with Little Boots...

?!

I can't even RECALL an earthquake around the time of Little Boots' release, but the very idea of that being her commercial poison over everything else that went wrong with that campaign is laughable!

Maybe it's down to the partiular radio stations she's played on?

It might not be very PC to suggest it, but she may be deemed more acceptable to conservative/right-wing US stations than artists associated with the more urban end of the R&B scale...

i think the wanted will overtake kelly clarkson at some point today

Yeah, that sort of thing happens a lot there.

This is a little bit off-topic, but related to that, but I was reading an article the other day about Mariah Carey, and how there was that time in the US where she was really, really popular, and how a lot of that was down to the fact that she appealed to everybody. The young, left-wing, Democrats, liberal, black, etc. people liked her because she sang on RnB beats, had hip hop percussion in a lot of her songs, collaborated with rappers, etc., and the older, right-wing, Republican, conservative, white, etc. people liked her because her music was clean, she actually is a good live singer, she's a good role model, had strong values, her songs have soft beats, etc.

The Wanted WILL overtake Kelly, Kelly had a massive headstart over them and they've already closed the gap a lot. Lana will overtake her as well. I'm just hoping Kelly can somehow get into the top 5 this week.

You left out 'because she is HOT'...

You left out 'because she is HOT'...

Which of course is more important than her music and personality.

REALLY hope Kelly gets a Top 10 officially with Mr. Know It All. I'm sure The Wanted will be #1 after their X-Factor performance!
