I didnt realise Progress had sold almost 60,000 less than The Circus in its opening week, the Robbie return did nothing to boost dvd sales at all which is quite surprising.

Remember that The Circus DVD/CD had the Abbey Road Sessions packaged with it and there's no denying that that influenced sales between them. Plus looking at the German, Italian, Danish etc DVD charts it seems that it sold a respectable amount overseas whereas Circus didnt. Saying that it would be nice to see how many sales worldwide the Progress DVD stands at

ya worldwide progress dvd will probably outsell thye circus and again it would be great to have worldwide sales for them both.

Such a shame DVD sales in general are quite hard to obtain, I wonder why they are less available than singles and albums and I also wonder is it because on normal weeks of the year (ie outside christmas, mothers day etc) they are so low they dont want the people to know.
In fact there is a pretty high possibility that we may get DVD sales from Musicweek around Mothers Day as im guessing the DVD will ship a few more copies around those couple of weeks

Hopefully, great point to make, I do agree the dvd could potentially sell well as a mothers day gift.
i think they will pick up sales in those markets and then sell in low numbers throughout the rest of the year.

If it goes anything like the Circus it will still be in the chart for christmas.

No it didn't Jay. The Circus DVD was a stand-alone. The Abbey Road live session was on the Live CD - it was nothing to do with the DVD. Robbie's addition didn't do anything for the sales of the DVD (in the UK) but I'm sure his name will have helped shift a few in Europe.

Ya Robbies name would have added European sales for them, im still slighty amused/amazed that robbie returning didnt add any extra sales to UK dvd or album sales.

Progress live after a good climb to number 81 last week has dropped out of the top 100 this week

On a brighter note the dvd climbs 3 places to #3.

The DVD of the Circus that I have has the Abbey Road session on it. It is also on the Live DVD.

Yeah Rob definately influenced their sales in Europe

While I am delighted to see the DVD make a top 3 return, I was so disapointed with the album dropping out of the chart completly as I fully expected it to remain top 100 and had even a small hope of it going back into the top 75 so its drop just disapointed me even more.

I ahve to say i kinda was hoping the same and definiotly expected another week top 100, i think sales would be extremely low down that end of the chart so they might if lucky re enter again.

Re entering would be excellent and I believe may happen, as you mention sales in the lower reaches of the chart are low so I supose they are in with a chance of re entering. The price of the live does not appear to have been reduced at all, maybe when that happens the album will sell a little bit more.

Well re entered it has, last week it just missed out ona top 100 placing as this week we see the album climbing from #101 to number 91 this week.

The dvd drops just 1 place to #4 this week.

Number 101 is as annoying as numbers 76, 41 and 11 in terms of just missing out on a bigger scale of a hit as such, that said, it is good to see the live album returning to the chart. Somehow it would be great if they get a few valentines sales to keep in the top 100 for the week ahead.
yes i agree about those numbers and how annoying they can be, i remember feeling that when kylie;s finer feelings made #11 and santa baby #76. I asked for a sales request for the live album in the chart forum and have been informed its on 186,500 so looks like a long slow slog to 200,000, hopefully they will stay top 100 on the back of valentines sales like you said.
