The potential Latvian entries have been published online, and can be found here.

Having listened to snippets of them all quickly, only 6 songs stood out for me...

#03 Atminas - Sounds like a less brilliant version of Jenni Vartiainen. I do like it however.

#11 Freakin' Out - Happy Clappy pop/rock number. Sounds a bit like F.L.Y. but with more guitars

#20 Heaven - A solid eurodance number with Snap!/Calvin Harris influences. It does however sound very similar to something else.

#54 Milestibas Nevar But Par Daudz - The Latvian equivalent of E.M.D. maybe? A decent R'n'B ballad.

#61 Kisses In The Night - Budget Nina Soderquist, but still rather fabulous for a rock track.

#63 Music Thief - The folk-pop version of Star Pilots' I'm Alive. Musically similar to Social Butterfly, but the vocals are questionable.

The others range from nice to terrible. Heaven is probably the best option to send to Baku I think.

Latvia's entry;

Actually not bad musically, although the lyrics are cringeworthy. One of Latvia's less awful entries anyway, the chorus will get stuck in my head.

I actually love it! Easily one of their best ever entries, up there with What For? for me (though I'm aware that's an acquired taste...) http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif
Reminding me of Sanomi a bit.

I rather like it too! It caused quite a stir for all the wrong reasons on Twitter, but I can't see why so many people vehemently dislike it. The lyrics are a little terrible, but this is certainly a lot better than the majority of past Latvian entries!
Really reminding me of something, that opening riff is really quite familiar. Anyway, this is the only Latvian entry I know that I've really quite liked, and one of the best entries so far. I also don't mind the lyrics, they're quite relaxing.

I really must've heard the wrong song, can't see why anyone would have any thing remotely nice to say about this.

In my words I class it as F**KING APPALING!!! :(

I really like this, one of the better entries of the year so far, probably top 5 right now. Room to grow too but I don't see it doing much in Baku. The 2009 entry is actually the only Latvian entry that I remember disliking in recent years, the pirates thing in 2008 was a huge guilty pleasure.

Been listening to this a lot over the past few days, and I have NO idea why :drama:

The intro sounds like something the BBC ought to nick for the return of 'Holiday', Anmary's shaky voice is Dervish-esque in sound, the lyrics are incredibly awful in every way, not least yet another tired mention of Mick Jagger, but it's so damn catchy!

My guilty pleasure this Eurovision :lol:

Beautiful Song is not my cup of tea. It is not beautiful at all. I did not like any songs from their NF btw.
I thought this was a bit strange at the beginning, but the chorus does get stuck in your head and steadily climbed up my rankings ;)
I can't believe how much I like 'Beautiful Song' :blush: It's my guilty plessure of Eurovision 2012 :lol: I burned it to a CD in my car with 'Euphoria' 'Stay' and some other Eurovision entries. Today I was listening to the CD in my car for the first time, and it was the warmest day in February ever recored in Norway. 15+C :o Anyway, I had the windows down, and I had to stop at a red light. The people walking past looked at me while listening to 'Beautiful Song'. I turned the music down, and changed the song. Luckly it was 'Get Back' that was next track on the CD.

Final version and video;

Shamefully falling in love with it all over again, this version has a lot more oomph.

Ireland are so giving that 12 points :lol:

I really like the new version of it!

Unshamefully falling in love with it all over again. :wub:

I don't understand what there is to be shamed about? :lol:

The new version does have more oomph though. I bet it was probably what anmary was wearing in the performance (the whole holland thing) that got a little of people not taking the song seriously.

The diabolical lyrics, it's like a 5 year old wrote them.

I adore the melody though, it's incredibly catchy and instant.

Who cares what the lyrics are like, this is easily in my top 5 of this years contest. :wub: The final version has improved it even further.
This version is MUCH better. I still can't get over the fact that the lyrics are so f***ing awful.
