Posted October 23, 201113 yr Just wondered if anybody had some up to date Steps singles sales as we got the albums ( or million sellers) last week? The last bits i had was from a tour programme that has 5,6,7,8 on 290,000 Last thing on my mind on 330,000 One for Sorrow on 363,000 and Tragedy/Heartbeat on 1.1million Anything more up to date and on later singles?
October 23, 201113 yr Author Thanks. Sales did seem to trickle off as the years went on. Can't believe how much better best forgotten sold. Terrible single choice
October 23, 201113 yr Thanks. Sales did seem to trickle off as the years went on. Can't believe how much better best forgotten sold. Terrible single choice Riding on the crest of the Tragedy wave! See this thread as well: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry3781594
October 23, 201113 yr Are those just physical sales? or are downloads included as well? Id like to imagine that OFS has passed 400k now, and LGAHOMH has reached 300k, and maybe ITWYMMF has gotten closer to 200k? Also im just curious are single certifications based on shipments or actual sales in the UK? because After The Love Has Gone was certified silver and Say You'll Be Mine was certified gold, sales-wise they seem a bit off the mark from their certifications.
October 23, 201113 yr I'm assuming ITWYMMF has been top 200 for the past few weeks so hopefully it's sold another 10k at least recently...
October 23, 201113 yr Author I don't know why but i seem to have a figure of 170,000 for the first week sales of Better best Forgotten. No idea where that comes from though.

October 23, 201113 yr http://www.generationsteps.co.uk/archive/sales.php This is pretty accurate. They are pre-download sales (certainly the 90s singles ones) unless sales have been minimal since 2004? Edited October 23, 201113 yr by gezza76
October 23, 201113 yr I agree, I don't see what else from Step One would have been a better choice... It's been one of the top five most popular singles again of theirs since the resurgence, judging by iTunes positions...
October 23, 201113 yr Author Back in the day i much prefered Back to you, even though it was a rip off of Together Again by Janet Jackson

No idea where that comes from though. Its first week sale was given in Music Week as 139,000. Music Week also mentions that it was #1 in the midweeks chart for much of the week until it was overtaken late in the week by the Comic Relief single "When The Going gets Tough" by Boyzone, which accelerated away on the Saturday (Comic Relief was broadcast on the Friday) to sell 198,000 copies in total that week.
October 23, 201113 yr Author 139,000 and #2 LOL How often does that happen. Steps had rotten luck a lot of the time with their singles not getting to #1

October 23, 201113 yr Thanks. Sales did seem to trickle off as the years went on. Can't believe how much better best forgotten sold. Terrible single choice I disagree, the only terrible mistake was that it wasnt released earlier, when it was released the album had sold very well so for a final single it did well, its my personel favourite steps single aswell.
