Not sure if there's an older topic floating around somewhere but I find this really interesting, took it last year and my views seem to have gone even more leftish since, although not by a lot.

My score:

Economic Left/Right: -6.38

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.59

I've taken this a few times on another forum, but I haven't here.

Haven't moved much, only slightly away from the center. I like it there, it's nice and green.

Economic Left/Right: -1.88

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.87

Economic Left/Right: -5.62

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.95

I think that's roughly where I've come on other occasions when I've done a similar test.

Economic Left/Right: -4.62

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.87

Should we take bets on how close Grimly gets to -10 on economic?

-10 perhaps?

I just had a vision of him getting -10 Economic, 10 Social, i.e: STALIN REBORN.

Won't happen, but it was quite a scary vision.

I think a 'Pragmatism' score would also be quite interesting if they could whack that in somehow, as that makes a big difference. Before I started university I met someone with basically the same score as me who I thought was my political soulmate. I can't stand him now as he's the most tribal inflexible person I've ever met

I predict -4 for Social, I'd imagine it'll be rather schizo but mostly liberal-y.

Is there anyone on this forum not getting -x, -x?

I think this test is rather American-biased. As in, most of Europe will look extremely libertarian and socialist with the results.

Tbh I just think the results on the site are reflective of what we're like. Since Craig got banned we haven't had a proper right-wing opinion (Gezza comes in occasionally but I think he's pretty centrist at heart, just that Grimly makes him look like Pinochet).

Gezza is anything BUT centrist! He's about as right-wing as Craig at times, except he can actually phrase his opinions without effectively saying that poor people don't deserve to live or whatever

Or maybe the internet in general is pretty left-wing at heart. The other site, everyone was getting similar results to here, and the general feel of that site is quite different to here. (And it's mostly American)

Buzzjack's political views fall in line with the internet in that respect.

 I'm right wing? (not that there is anything wrong with that) but I do have MAJOR issues with Right wing ideology HOWEVER I would also say i'm more right wing than left on the whole, though post 70s right wing ideology absorbed a lot of liberal philosophy (economically I mean). Anyway for what it's worth...

Christ, you're technically New Labour!

(Although that said I do think this test is skewed to make people come out fairly left-wing. After all, who on EARTH is going to say growth should benefit trans-national corporations rather than humanity?)

Economic Left/Right: -3.88

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.00

According to the chart, I appear to be a cross between the Dalai Lama and Gandhi... DAlai lama gaNDHI*? :o

Ha! NAME CHANGE NOW

 - Interesting. Not that I think we've discussed things enough to form a solid opinion of each other, generally we differ, and I wouldn't deny we're not on the same wavelength politically, i'm not that far to the right! :D I believe people should be free to do whatever they want (provided it affects no-one else) but they should feel the full force of those decisions and choices, personal responsibility and accountability are vital to human behaviour and fundamentally be nice to each other and respect other people. I'm an old school Liberal which is quite different to the Lib Dem party these days (which is practically a watered down Labour). More Friedman than keynes...
