Just noticed something odd on Darius's write up on the cast and creative page.

 

Right at the bottom of it is a web address for an acting agency in London which seems to be a good one.

 

At first I thought they'd maybe done the research and write up for all of the cast, but the others don't have it.

However Darius is not included on their site. Weird or what?

 

Editing : one girl in the ensemble has 'representation by and then what is presumably her agency.

 

Conway van Gelder Grant are Darius' agents in the UK for any theatre & acting work he does.

Still not quite sure Nina. I'd like to see his last show, but I don't really want to pay full price for a ticket, so I might try and get a discounted matinee ticket for the Friday. I'll be around and about for both shows though, hoping to bump into D ;) Would you like to see the show again? My offer still stands :)

I met Darius when leaving work. He's SO tall.

He is. Many of the men in my family are tall but only one as tall as he is.

That's good. Amra Faye (probably spelt incorrectly) professionalism and great voice makes the partnership work. Darius controls the stage, very good performer. America is an excellent actress and her voice gets better. The acting makes her very good in the role.

I agree about Amra. I'm surprised at all the ageist comments I've seen this time around.

 

I think it's the age old problem - those who've seen the film first and are expecting the same from the stage show.

 

In fact, the original Broadway cast were 'mature' actors and actresses.

 

Velma is supposed to be someone who's been around the block many, many times, without ever achieving the recognition or fame she craves. She's worked her socks off in second rate venues. It's her brush with crime and Billy Flynn which propels her to celebrity status at last and she jealously guards that status.

 

The stripped back monochrome production of Chicago - no set, no costume changes bar accessories and a couple of additional jackets, and sparse props - puts all the onus of the show on the cast. Everyone has to be on form to really make it sizzle - the band, the ensemble, the principals.

Going back 2 what we were talking bout the other day when he was spotted without his ring. This photo was taken last nights performance it says on his unofficial facebook so we know everythings ok. Knew it would be im so glad :dance:
