November 16, 201113 yr I dont think it would have sold well as a single. It wouldnt appeal to a wider msuic audience
January 4, 201213 yr 8 Letters has that epic feel as the closing song of the tour, on the live album it is the stand out performace of the cd, it turned out very strong live and has the sentimental value in their aswell.
January 4, 201213 yr I love the live version to, the song totally comes alive and i can now understand why they choose it to close the shows.
January 5, 201213 yr Indeed a good end to a great show, 8 Letters is very Take That, more so than some of the chosen singles from progress, 8 letters I believe would have made a great follow up to The Flood.
January 8, 201213 yr Nah I have to disagree. It is a very nice single but to have it as the second release from the album wouldnt have gone down too well for a couple of reasons. 1. it is a song that closes that chapter, and after the flood opening a new chapter to music and them as a 5 it would have been strange to release this second. 2. Kidz, LL and HN all are completely new songs for TT and Progress was all about emphasising this new sound 20 years on. Plus i dont think the general public would have bought it unless they knew all about the TT falling out, didnt have the album, or it got alot of promo which we know was seriously lacking this time around
January 24, 201213 yr Maybe not second single but it would have been a perfect single to end the era, i do/did like when we were young but i think eight letters would have been a better single choice and lets face it i dont think it could have performed any worse than when we were young did. Still shocked that it never made higher than number 88.
January 25, 201213 yr When we were young i do like but there is no arguing eight letters could not have peformed worse in the charts.
