Posted November 3, 201113 yr I'm a Spurs fan. I've bet my friend £50 we finish above them this year. Am I to lose?
November 4, 201113 yr Spurs will finish higher Arsenal are papering over the cracks right now as they have Van Persie to come in and score them goals, but they are still awful defensively
November 6, 201113 yr Author I'm regretting the bet to be honest. Got a feeling Arsenal might pick up steam...
November 6, 201113 yr Spurs easily. They look a different opposition. Arsenal without RVP is nothing basically.
November 6, 201113 yr Arsenal played West Brom yesterday, no Odenwingie or Long. Arsenal's defence is just absolutely terrible. Santos and Mertesacker have to be up there with the worst buys of the season. Saying that, judging on Liverpool's performance yesterday, Arsenal will probably finish 5th.

November 6, 201113 yr Looking like a big battle, the front 6 for Spurs look so good together and so dangerous going forward, even moreso with Kyle Walker joining in. I do think Arsenal might be able to sneak it though, just hope Van Persie can stay fit all season (not that that's likely, i'm sure he'll get injured for Holland next week!)
November 7, 201113 yr Arsenal will do it, they have a stronger team, and considering our first choice back 4 hasn't started together ONCE this season, I'd say the criticism of our defence is a bit unfair, especially considering Santos and Mertesacker are still bedding in to PL. I think Arsenal will be 3rd this season, which I would gladly have taken at the start of the season.
December 6, 201113 yr Personally i think it will be tight but i think arsenal will just finish above this season as arsenal are now so strong upfront with walcot, gervinho and rvp plus our defence is now looking strong as santos is looking good now nd vermealen is doing amzing now plus i can see spurs having a bad run soon
December 15, 201113 yr Eh? I'm still unconviced about Arsenal. Yes they are having a great run of form, but if Van Persie doesn't stay injury free I think they'll miss him hugely. I'm stil not convinced about their defence either. Spurs have been exceptional this season. Attacking wise they're great, albeit very one dimensional at times. They don't look as good without King, but right at this moment I say you'd be a bloody fool to say Arsenal will finish about Spurs!
December 19, 201113 yr Thinking about this more, I'm unsure. I thought Arsenal were great yesterday against Man City. I'd criticsed them for being a one man team in Van Persie, but they looked really good. The defence is still absolutely awful though. Not helped by injuries, but a good side will expolit the weaknesses of the defence. Spurs idk. They're a fantastic team on their day, but I don't think they have a very good mentality. I'm wondering if they go a goal behind whether they'd be able to come back and win the game. They'll miss Lennon, as their game play really depends on the wingers. It's going to turn in to a really interesting race for 3rd and 4th. Chelsea look haplessly inconsistent, and the same goes for Liverpool.

January 4, 201213 yr i think spurs nd arsenal r going to finish in the top 4 but i don't know who is going to finish higer now asarsenal drew against wolves nd lost to fulham y spurs drew to swansea so i think its going to go don to the last match
January 4, 201213 yr I'd say it's two from three for 3rd and 4th, can't see Liverpool making it. Not entirely sure Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs will fill 3-5 though - one could catch one of the Manchester teams for 2nd or get caught by Liverpool for 5th.

It will be close between Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea for 3rd. Liverpool have only played badly in two games this season (Spurs & Man City away). All the top teams bar Man Utd still have to come to Anfield. It'll be close. I doubt whether Arsenal will have the legs for 4th (see just about every season from the past 5 years) and Chelsea are well, inconsistent. Signing Cahill will not make a difference.

On the other hand I really doubt whether Liverpool have the offensive quality grind out a win over the bottom12 week after week, they have looked somewhat toothless in a lot of those games, whereas I don't doubt that they'll get results against a lot of the top teams. I don't think they will make it into the top 4, but will be competing with the worst of Arsenal/Tottenham/Chelsea for 5th.

We have good offensive players, but Suarez is likely to miss 3/4 league games now. Still, I believe Liverpool will buy a striker in this window. Our main problem is still our wings imo. Whilst Downing has been ok, 0 goals and 0 assists is not a good £20m investment.
