February 18, 201213 yr I'm wondering if it's going to be 5th March. The current Billy finishes on the 4th and Darius has 'Chicago' as his facebook avatar
February 19, 201213 yr please let it be..I am just longing to see him on broadway.well when i mean see..lol
February 27, 201213 yr It sounds as though it is still on - just the when that's unclear. I think Darius was hoping but not expecting this success. Album will probably be delayed though
February 27, 201213 yr I can wait for an album, as we are hearing the new songs..I have fingers crossed for the tv pilot, but hoping he gets to do braodway too, at least this casting adds to his exposure in US
February 27, 201213 yr Author I wonder if he'll need to hit the gym to bulk up for the beast role before filming begins. I've no idea how long filming would take. They'll probably need a bit of time afterwards for post production. Whether that would present Darius with an opportunity to tread the Broadway boards will depend, I suppose, on whether he would need to make himself available for pre-publicity. He clearly couldn't do both because he's always had to do TV and radio shows and media interviews, to promote Chicago etc. when he's been in the West End. I'd think Broadway stars would have to do likewise.
February 27, 201213 yr All depends whether it's picked up and how many episodes they want. If it is, it'll be his priority and anything else would have to fit round it
February 27, 201213 yr Author I meant post production of the pilot episode. There's a rebellion at the heart of the drama and I'm guessing that means fights and stunts and the director mentioned special effects too. There's all the usual stuff too like checking for sound inequalities, and changing the lighting etc Lots of things are done after shooting the scenes.
February 28, 201213 yr I was pondering this last night BT - would darius bulk up for the role..mercenary, body gaurd..need ot think about that a bit more, I do hope its picked up on, I loved the Once upon a time series? I loved the mr wolf character...:D
February 28, 201213 yr Author What channel is OUAT on? I didn't know it was showing in the UK. I watched Grimm again last night and the "wolf" on that one gets a lot of comedy one liners. He's a great character. I think as a Meisner trained actor, Darius would voluntarily go a long way for authenticity to get closer to his character in any show/production. I think there'd be a lot of resistance if anyone was foolhardy enough to try to force him to do anything he was dead set against. Edited February 28, 201213 yr by Baytree
February 28, 201213 yr Darius has broad shoulders and height. He's never been keen on the gym. If he has to strip then it may be necessary but it'd bore him to death.
March 2, 201213 yr Author I think he's keen enough on fitness and exercise through normal sporting activities and isn't into working out to (over)define muscles.
March 2, 201213 yr I saw Grimm listd on one of our channels..must try to catch it..dont think I am gtting confused, I recall OUAT..if that was the right one was some years back, possibly before cable.. my eldest daughter who was at school then and I were glued. I think i recalll mr wolf having some good lines ...I will have to try and catch it, perhaps it was grim...was a good few years back
March 2, 201213 yr Author ABC's Once Upon A Time is just completing its first season on US TV. It sounds really intriguing -- a very complex dual time/location plot and its cast seems to be excellent. I think ABC really, really want BatB to work, to give them a 2 hour block of fantasy, and give BatB a good lead in from OUAT. They're putting a lot of faith in Darius as an actor. Grimm is showing on Watch in the UK. It's a crime drama set in contemporary USA with the twist that a lot of the crimes and protagonists are based on people/creatures from the Grimm's fairy stories. The Grimms' stories always were quite bloodthirsty. I wonder how we never noticed when we were kids lapping them up. Edited March 2, 201213 yr by Baytree
May 16, 201213 yr removed an article i found about chicago coz i read it again and realised it was about who is next 2 play the west ends billy flynn not broadway oops Edited May 16, 201213 yr by polly
May 17, 201213 yr Author Zafra Jaffrey(not sure if the name is exactly right) from Smash has started his run in the West End. I think we'll find HE will be the next BF on Broadway. He's better known to US audiences and Smash is a major success and has been renewed for a second series on TV. It's likely to win some of the major TV Awards.
May 17, 201213 yr It just confused me coz i found the artical on the chicago on broadway facebook page not the west end 1 but never mind
May 18, 201213 yr Whether it's him or Darius next on Broadway will be Darius' decision. He has first refusal.
May 18, 201213 yr Author Thanks, megham. It's good to know it's still on the table. I wasn't sure how many cast changes there have been in NY this year.
May 19, 201213 yr mm, he isnt very Billy Flynnish to look at..surely Darius must do Broadway very shortly..or thats something else missed out on.
