I totally agree. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I think Rihanna has grown, developed and improved so much sover the last 5 years. She really is one of the biggest names in pop right now and if Rihanna keeps producing the goods, she'll still be going strong in another 5 years. :D

You really dislike this so much? :D Oh well, each to their own. I think it's one of the most "pop" songs they've done considering they're supposed to be your run-of-the-mill typical US rock act. I agree 'Rockstar' was overhyped - I never understood why it suddenly became such a popular hit in early 2008 after spending ages in the top 20. :lol:

The beauty of cherry picking has actually meant that 'Titanium' has actually become a massive international word of mouth track. It even went top 5 in Ireland where they usually mirror the UK charts. It's easily David Guetta's best single since 'When Love Takes Over'.

Oh wow, great to see some others liking this song. Out of interest, what are the other three songs? I'm guessing 'How You Remind Me' is one of them?

 

16 (--) Medina - Synd For Dig (16) [1 wk] For Altid was amazing. This was merely ok for me, but the album is quite strong - lacks highlights but is decent throughout

 

It sort of continued growing on me post-BJSC results but granted not by much. Ahh yes 'For Altd' featured in my BJSC CD Swap album. I still don't know if others managed to download that album or not. It seems like a long forgotton event. :lol:

 

22 (--) Within Temptation - Shot In The Dark (22) [1 wk] Not their best single, but it's still rather good! Have you given their latest album a listen?

 

I haven't. Is it on iTunes? I'd b tempted to listen to the preview clips. For me, Within Temptation's best single for me to this day remains 'Ice Queen' from 2002 iirc. I thought that song was stunning and so different to anything I'd heard prior to that. It makes me smile (in a trying not to laugh way) when Evanescence broke through the following year and the UK record buying public thought it was so unique, yet I've discovered Within Temptation (and Nightwish too) the previous year and thought if anything, Evanescence copied their style (although 'Bring Me To Life' and 'My Immortal' were both excellent imo).

Yeah, iirc it got some small points off me so it made an impact - a small one mind. :P It's rare that the 10 songs I vote for in the BJSC final don't go onto entering my chart. I'm sure they all have except my first BJSC where only 'Mr. Saxobeat' entered as well as 'Riverside'. :wub: Back then, I was in the process of tweaking my chart rules so it was BJSC XXXIV when tracks from the contest made a bigger impaxt.

13 - I vaguely remember 'Someday' but wouldn't have a clue how it went without listening on YouTube. That said, I'd probably end up saying that about 'WWST' in 8 years time. :kink:

 

16 - I did save my album as I put in a fair amount of effort to just delete the entire album. :lol: I had uploaded it to Mediafire but the link has been expired for a while. I might re-upload the album later and send you a link (if I get the time :D ).

 

22 - 'Fallen' was a good album. Shame that they released 'Going Under' as that was probably my least fave single from that album. In fact, I preferred 'My Immortal' more than 'BMTL' despite the latter being their biggest worldwide hit.

 

39 - 'Bordet' didn't really appeal to me that much. It was certainly better than quite a lot of the tracks in the final 28. I managed to whittle the final 28 tracks down to 14 to vote for which is pretty rubbish imo. I'm just not ready for Disney pop and K-pop taking over. Is this really the futute of pop music? :(
