Seems like Emmerdale taking the easy way out to me. I knew Jackson would never be a long term character after the accident. Shame..

I agree, when i first read the spolier easy way out was the first thing that came to mind, very disapointing i think.

All of the storylines at the minute except Charity and Jai are just really, really lazy. The fact that Lisa won't tell Debbie about Derek even though he's now manipulating Lizzie is pathetic. Lisa has never been a weak woman and would always do the right thing.

In other news when Jimmy

is found next week he develops complete amnesia and can't remember a single thing about his life in Emmerdale LOL.

I wish this Cain vs Jai thing would hurry up & come to a head!!

Same with Jackson & Aaron

Yesterday's second episode was seriously fantastic. Great performances from Emma Atkins and Jeff Hordley and proof of why Charity is the best character in the show.

I don't think Emmerdale could squeeze in any more arson/fire blazes is they tried!

I felt a twang of sadness seeing Faye leave last night. She'd been reduced to basically a glorified extra but she did have potential which they never really utilised. Shame.

I liked Faye, too - I was hoping they'd pay her off with enough dosh to buy the Woolpack - it'd be fun seeing Faye trying to make the place a bit 'classier'.... maybe a gastro pub? Plus, any excuse for more Ryan is fine by me... although I've read he's quitting. Damn shame.

The whole Jackson storyline's dragging now, too - he's not a terribly good actor, anyway, and the part's getting a bit demanding for him (ok, he only needs to talk and move his head and sup orange juice, but still). And Pauline Quirk - she should come with a translator - I can barely understand a word she says.

I fully agree about the Jackson storyline - it's the most boring storyline in years.

At the moment I record the show then I can skip the Jackson bits.

You're correct about Ryan he goes in April

OMG Jackson is so miserable think Ill kill him if they dont soon  Plus Iam sure its not a very positive msg to send out to other newly parlysed people.

I've said quite a lot on DS about the Jackson storyline but I'm not sure I've really said much on here... I just can't believe how much they've fucked up. It all seems as though they were so hell-bent on having a massive spectacular stunt (and the crash episode was undoubtedly one of the best episodes of the last year) that they didn't even stop to think about how it would back Jackson's character into a corner. I guess they thought they were being brave by having him not make a magical soap land recovery but the only thing left for Jackson after that was only ever going to be either suicide or leaving the village with Hazel, and since Pauline Quirke has proved too popular for them to let her go, suicide for Jackson is all that's left and Mark Silcock simply is not a strong enough actor to portray pain and internal struggle without boring the audience rigid. It says a lot that he's paralysed and yet so many people can't stand him, much less feel any pity for him. Shame.

Great - the Jackson/Aaron story ends in June as Jackson (Mark Silcock) leaves.

This is how he's supposed to go out.

Jackson dies with the help of his mother

This storyline has dragged on far too long now.

I'm not sure Aaron's gay storyline was ever 'inspirational'...

I just love David and Leyla. Such a natural, warm couple and both great at the comedy. I love how even their dramatic stuff dips into comedy territory. At times like that Emmerdale feels like (classic) Corrie more than Corrie itself does.

absolutely spot-on...... Mark Silcock simply isn't up to the part - not sure he ever was. I always thought he just wasn't the type Aaron would ever have gone for - far too smart-arse, gormless and sarcastic - I think Aaron would have gone either for a chavvy, dumb run-of-the-mill gay boy or an older guy (father figure and all that malarkey). I'll be glad to see the back of Silcock..... but, despite my initial reservations, I really like Pauline Quirke, all three of her.

On a lighter note..... Alex, the new farmhand...... simply... astonishing. Gawwwwjuss. Beyond.

And mention HAS to go to the ludicrous Jimmy storyline.... another actor simply waaay out of his depth - it's almost painful watching him do 'confused'. And, looking at the shocking state of Adele Silva these days, I think even Nicola's a safer bet.

I find Nicola quite attractive, I have to say...

LOL.

Yeah the new farmhand is pretty but he is sadly very much in the vain of Ryan ie. he couldn't be any more wooden if he was MDF panelling purchased for an episode of Changing Rooms. What a total bore.

I'm most attracted to David nowadays. I like the David Beckham on a budget look he has going on.

I have to turn the sound off when Adele Silva speaks - I do the same whenever Kirsty Allsop is on TV. Silva has such a weird face! The nose upwards and hair are fine - but what is happening with her mouth? She has a constant sneer on her face!
