Brilliant top two once again, these two will definitely feature in my end of year top 20!

 

At the moment these are easily my two fave songs already in the charts. Both brilliant tracks accompanied by two excellent music videos. Ed Sheeran still has some way to go to overtake 'The A Team' in my YTD chart but there's still plenty of chart life in this song. As for Rihanna, 'S&M' was her biggest hit in my chart prior to 'We Found Love' getting released but I'm sure without checking that this is now Rihanna's most successful single in my YTD 2011 chart. Will be interesting to see where these tracks appear in my Chart of 2011. :D

I never realised until Saturday afternoon that 'Come On' is a cover version originally by Kish Mauve (who iirc did the original '2 Hearts' before Kylie covered the track). Still, this is another brilliant track and at a more quiet time of the year may well have been #1 for me (as with 'Jealousy' to be honest) but it can't compete with the top 2. That said, I can see 'Come On' sticking around for some time yet.

'Grange Hill Can't Handle Me' is legendary. :lol: To be honest, I think Flo Rida has become an established artist in his own right. Each year he seems to release one massive hit ('Low' in 2008, 'Right Round' in 2009, 'Club Can't Handle Me' in 2010 and now 'Good Feeling' in 2011). I really like this track though - what really grabs my attention is the dubstep-esque breakdown halfway through the song.

It sure did. :D 'I Will Love You Monday (365)' peaked at #8 in my chart for a fortnight in early 2010. It never really grew on me more after I charted it so #8 was its peak and it started slipping downwards after that. I actually prefer 'Geronimo' more for some reason. It's quite Shakira in it's style and it's proving to be a big success in central Europe at the moment.

Really? I actually think it's easily one of the better rap/dance tracks we've had in the charts for a while. For me, it's all abou the second half of the song. The breakdown is *.* then when everything builds up again before the final chorus with the beats. 'Right Round' does remain his biggest hit in my chart peaking at #3. Flo Rida has never come close to topping my chart though.

It was the complete opposite for me. I first heard 'Geronimo' when it charted in Denmark but at the time the song hadn't really grabbed my attention. It got another boost when it went #1 in Germany and I found a new found liking for the song. A real grower imo and purely because of its timing by the time of the BJSC final I found myself enjoying the song enough to give it 12 points. 'Geronimo' didn't even get my 12 points in the semi final voting stage. That's how much it grew on me. :o

To be honest, I was really impressed with the stripped back almost country ballad-esque performance of the song on The X Factor. That's what got the song into my chart so early in the first place. Obviously knowing it was getting a release anyways helped but usually songs chart upon their official release. Those songs that chart low down the UK charts and continue climbing over several weeks could chart at any point. The more I like the song, the sooner it charts. :D

No problems. :D I will get round to uploading it tonight. I was getting the BJSC SF1 pack sorted out yesterday so at least that's out of the way. 'My Immortal' is :wub: - #2 in my first ever personal chart in January 2004 kept off the no. 1 spot by 'Leave Right Now' by Will Young.

I'm charting Dandy's Cherry B Remix as that's the version that was entered into BJSC and therefore the version I've listened to the most. I prefer the remix version to the album version having heard that too.

Hmm, I'd say it's a justified position. :P Iirc, their highest peaking hit in my chart was 'I Wish I Had An Angel' which reached no. 5 and always rememeber the reactions on Cool Clarity at the time. Must've been in 2005 when that song was released - must've been during a period of UK release schedule draught for decent new music. :lol:

I haven't but then again I can't say I've ever listened to any album by The Saturdays. Their singles are too inconsistant for me to want to listen to an album of theirs.

If the offer of your CD Swap album is still available then I wouldn't mind hearing it, but only if you have the time to reupload it :D . With regards to Evanescence, I also much prefer My Immortal which was in my top 10 songs of the last decade iirc!

 

No problems. :D I will get round to uploading it tonight. I was getting the BJSC SF1 pack sorted out yesterday so at least that's out of the way. 'My Immortal' is :wub: - #2 in my first ever personal chart in January 2004 kept off the no. 1 spot by 'Leave Right Now' by Will Young.

 

Some thoughts on your chart this week;

 

19 (--) Patrick Wolf - Together (19) [1 wk] One of my favourite tracks from his latest album, I'm looking forward to hearing the new EP in a few weeks!

 

I'm charting Dandy's Cherry B Remix as that's the version that was entered into BJSC and therefore the version I've listened to the most. I prefer the remix version to the album version having heard that too.

 

24 (--) Nightwish - Storytime (24) [1 wk] That's quite low down! I really like it, and can't wait for the new album! It's very ABBA like despite having the typical Nightwish sound!

 

Hmm, I'd say it's a justified position. :P Iirc, their highest peaking hit in my chart was 'I Wish I Had An Angel' which reached no. 5 and always rememeber the reactions on Cool Clarity at the time. Must've been in 2005 when that song was released - must've been during a period of UK release schedule draught for decent new music. :lol:

 

26 (--) The Saturdays - My Heart Takes Over (26) [1 wk] Have you heard the album? If so, what do you think? This is one of the weaker tracks from it imo, but it's still pretty nice!

 

I haven't but then again I can't say I've ever listened to any album by The Saturdays. They're definitely more of a singles act to me where I'm more likely to enjoy a couple of their big hits (I still think 'Up' is a brilliant pop song) but not enough to want to listen to an albums worth. Their singles are too inconsistant for me to want to listen to an album of theirs.

19 - I am very impressed by Dandy's mixing skills on that track to be honest! That could easily be released as an official remix!

24 - It was around about that time, possibly late 2004? All I know for sure was that the b-side, Where Were You Last Night, was awesome!

26 - That's fair enough, their standout album tracks are few and far between - their b-sides tend to be better tbh! :lol:
