The first of two entries for Example - this was his second number one in the UK but missed out on my chart. I'm sure he doesn't mind as it has a much better chart run here  This song is produced by Nero and has some dubstep in it. Example's rap is great in this, the only disappointment is he does the same rap twice but on the good side that makes it the catchy song it is. This era has really turned Example into one of my favourite artists of the now, the first era was good but nothing special. Expect his other entry soon

Chart Rewind: 20. Sidney Samson "Riverside"

In 2009 DJ Sidney Samson had a big hit with this song, in 2010 vocals were added and it went to number 2 in the UK. He hasn't released anything commercial since.

Still a great dance tune even if everyones forgotten about it.

This one was a grower for me but one of THE dance smashes of the year. The production is just standard eurodance and nothing special really, but it's a great song that got me up dancing - the vocalist on this track Dragonette is a great addition to this, and overall it's just a fun song. Hello!

Chart Rewind: 19. Swedish House Mafia feat. Pharell "One (Your Name)"

The biggest club hit of 2010, 3 DJS got together and produced this song, it was originally called One. For the commercial release they put Pharrel's vocals on it which I don't really think adds much to the song.

This is still AMAZING and EPIC  I can't believe they now have a shot at the UK #1 later this month. OMG

Most people on this forum would tell you this is a piece of forgettable R&B trash - but I actually really like it. Loick's singing reminds me of Taio Cruz in a good way, and the rapping by Tanya Lacey really adds to it even if it's really short (gotta love her accent lol) However Loick really disappointed me with follow up single Me Without You, which is one of the most boring generic R&B songs ever.

Chart Rewind: 18. K'naan "Wavin' Flag (Coca Cola Celebration Mix)"

Simon Cowell's football song got to number one officially, but this is more memorable and is the world cup song of 2010. K'naan is a great singer for this song as he is South African and this songs about South Africa and the World Cup. However he will remain a One Hit Wonder.

As a football song this is very good but I shouldn't have put this song so high - hopefully this year there'll be a good song like this about the olympics that are happening in London.

I'm still watching this chart unfold, How We Roll is terminally dull for me but I'm pleased to see Me & You and Moves Like Jagger so high up  Loved the Basto song earlier in the year too!

Thought the two LMFAO tracks would be higher but I guess Party Rock Anthem is a contender for #1!

You played Cannonball 50 times on the first day? :o Some of my #1's haven't even got 50 plays in total

I thought you'd approve of MLJ :P The Basto song is brilliant  I can't get enough of the Avicii sound atm.

LMFAO is a big contender for #1. The other contenders are Sak Noel, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Jennifer Lopez and Labtempah. Who will be top :o

I was very excited over this years X Factor and was so excited for LM's win. Cannonball now has 147 plays on my iTunes which puts it in my top 10 most played. A few of my #1s don't have many plays too  will.i.am's THE only has around 35 plays to date, and some of my #1s from 2010 have even less :o

Example made an excellent comeback single here with "Changed..." getting both a UK #1 and a number one on my chart. The production on this is better than any other single he's done, the song builds up and up and when it drops it's a massive drop. LOVE

Chart Rewind: 17. Rihanna "Only Girl (In The World)"

Rihanna's first single from Loud missed number one for me but it's been a big seller officially and it's overtook Rude Boy in YTD. Rihanna is at her best with this song and she has proven to us she can sing over a dance track, the production in this is amazing.

I did a (very short) review on this earlier on, it was my #46 song of 2011.

David Guetta proves that he can turn anything into a massive hit here. And this time, he's remixed Snoop Dogg's "Sweat" (I haven't actually heard the original non remix version) This is so amazing, Snoop Dogg's vocal really fits the instrumental and it's great to see him do something that isn't hip-hop for a change. This is David Guetta's highest entry.

Chart Rewind: 16. B.o.B feat. Hayley Williams "Airplanes"

B.o.B's second single is about airplanes and his job. It features the lead singer of Paramore. It's Bob's best single to date but because of his averageness I don't think he'll last very long.

I was right again, he has been irrelevant this year (Price Tag aside) I don't ever listen to B.o.B's songs anymore to be honest, and his new song "Strange Clouds" wasn't impressive.

Pitbull starts the top 15 with "Give Me Everything", his only #1 on my chart but OTF with Jennifer Lopez is still to come. This is a great party anthem with a great hook from Ne-Yo after his disappointing Beautiful Monster and terrible follow up One In a Million. Afrojack, one of my favourite producers, makes the great club beat. Oh, and of course Pitbull raps in the song too. This song has 100 plays on my iTunes to date.

Chart Rewind: 15. Far East Movement feat. Dev & The Cataracs "Like A G6"

Far East Movement topped the US charts with this song, normally this wouldn't get anywhere near the top 10. Will they release another single or be a One Hit Wonder is the question for them now.

It was a great thing that LAG6 introduced the world to Dev  but I don't like anything else that Far East Movement have done. Follow up single Rocketeer was a deserved flop (however it did much better in the chart than I expected it to do)

Rihanna could not have had a better comeback than this. Teaming up with the amazing production skills of Calvin Harris (you get it now, I love all producers who can make dance music) The instrumental parts of the song make the song better - but I can't dislike the Rihanna's vocals, her voice is perfect for pop-dance music as well as urban. The lyrics do get repetitive but that is sometimes what makes a pop song - this will go down as a Rihanna classic for me, having said that she still has 2 more entries left, both from the Loud era.

Chart Rewind: 14. Plan B "She Said"

Plan B's follow up single had lots of airplay and sales and its his best song to date. It missed the number one spot to Tinie Tempah's 5th week of Pass Out chart reign.

Not sure why I charted this as high as I did. It's a good song but not something I'd listen to out of choice anymore. I'm surprised it's in the top 10 most played songs from 2002 onwards (in Dannyboy's countdown) but I did love it thanks to lots of airplay.

Just edging out Rihanna, Lady GaGa's comeback single is at #13. She managed to get a week at the top in-between Rihanna's long reign (she will be appearing later in the chart) and debuted at #9 on the day it premiered :o It's a great song and it's what GaGa is all about, unfortunately she missed out the UK #1 thanks to bad timing but this is one of my favourites from her. She needs to make more tunes like this in her next era, I love the fun GaGa much more than the serious/dark GaGa

Chart Rewind: 13. Swedish House Mafia vs. Tinie Tempah "Miami 2 Ibiza"

A big year for Swedish House Mafia, both of their songs went top 20 year end for me. Miami 2 Ibiza is the better one as it features my favourite UK rapper Tinie Tempah. He does a good rap in this song, rapping about abbreviations.

Still a massive amazing tune  One of my real favourites of 2010, I prefer it a lot more than some of the things ahead of it.

The most unlucky #2 on my chart ever, spending 5 non-consecutive weeks at the position behind Rihanna's "S&M" and LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" - both of which are still to come on the chart. Onto the song, this is a brilliant US rap song from newcomer Wiz Khalifa. The song has a very catchy hook and some great rapping. As much as I love dance music, I can't not love a brilliant rap song.

Chart Rewind: 12. Jason Derulo "In My Head"

Jason has had a good year this year, scoring 2 end of year top 15 singles, this being the first of them. It may sound a lot like 'Just Dance' but it's a great song and he has a great voice!

Unfortunately for Jason he's had a terrible year in 2011 with me. I wish he'd make great songs like this and "Ridin' Solo" again :(

I never thought Chase & Status would better "Blind Faith", but then they released this. Originally with just Tinie Tempah, they remixed it with a proper chorus and Wretch 32 (whose part is not in the video) It took ages for this to grow on me but when it did I really loved it. It's one of my most played songs on iTunes ever with over 150 plays to date. And yes I do like Wretch 32's part in the remix.

Chart Rewind: 11. The Black Eyed Peas "The Time (The Dirty Bit)"

Just missing out on this years top ten is the Black Eyed Peas, very close behind this years number 10. They are the only act to peak at number one 3 times. This was a great comeback for the Peas after the average Rock That Body, but it's not as good as Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling.

I reviewed this earlier on in the chart :)

Forget ADELE, this is one of the most beautiful ballads I've ever heard - I loved it so much in the first week it debuted at #1, something that not many songs have done in 2011. (there is another #1 debut higher up the chart) Christina really deserves a place in my top 10 of the year, it has 140 plays on my iTunes and it's just amazing. If my chart wasn't so biased towards dance music this would probably be much higher. The follow up 'A Thousand Years' doesn't have the emotion that this has and I went off that quickly.

Chart Rewind: 10. will.i.am feat. Nicki Minaj "Check It Out"

will.i.am's solo single 'Check it Out' which features new US rapper Nicki Minaj just beat number 11. This is the first time will appears in the top 10 out of 2.

Will hasn't had a big year for me in 2011 but I'm sure in 2012 his new single "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" which went #1 for me when it got leaked will be massive in my charts.

The first of two entries in the top ten for Rihanna. I loved this song well into the year, giving it 5 weeks at #1 in January. The X Factor performance really made me love it much more - really sexy. Drake's verse is amazing too, yes I do love the "square root of 69" line. I do love Rihanna for her pop-dance songs but when she makes a sexy R&B one like this it's amazing too. This is such a Rihanna classic

Chart Rewind: 09. Eminem "Not Afraid"

Eminem has 2 entries in the top ten, this is his first, his comeback single 'Not Afraid'.

We missed you in 2011 Eminem  The Dr Dre and Bad Meets Evil collaborations were just "alright" but he hasn't done anything amazing like this, and his other entry with Rihanna higher up.

One of the most amazing dance songs ever, I like to think that is why this song was a hit. It uses the same sample that Flo Rida uses in "Good Feeling" from Etta James (who sadly died recently) Avicii's production in this song is epic and flawless - I won't hear a bad word against it, it's also been loved enough in 2012 to enter that EOY chart too. It currently has over 230 plays on iTunes, only beaten by an EOY #1 contender. This song would probably be much higher if it wasn't out in the last few months of the year.

Chart Rewind: 08. Jason Derulo "Ridin' Solo"

Jason Derulo's best song this year and his best selling in the UK, Ridin' Solo gets the number 8 place.

I think I've already told you about how I went from love to detest in 2011 with Jason Derulo.

OK we're now at the point in the chart where I can't stop saying how amazing these songs are. Mr Saxobeat is THE Eurodance SMASH of the YEAR. Who thought I would love a song from Romania so much? Well I do, this song does what it's meant to do and makes me "move like a freak". Unfortunately this song missed the #1 spot thanks to LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" which is still to come.

Chart Rewind: 07. Usher feat. will.i.am "OMG"

Usher made a big comeback this year with an abbreviation song title, yet he doesn't say Oh Em Gee in the song. will.i.am produced the song and gave it that BEP sound.

Haven't heard this song in ages, but any song that will.i.am produces is amazing for me

I always loved Calvin Harris, but when he chose this as his comeback single I instantly fell in love. Such amazing production on this. It also features the vocal talent of Kelis, I was disappointed with Acapella but this now becomes my favourite song ever by both Kelis and Calvin Harris. The instrumental chorus is the best part of the song and this for me has put Calvin right up there with my favourite artists of the now. "Bounce" was very unlucky to miss number one, Pitbull and Christina Perri stopped Calvin from getting #1 but Calvin has beaten both acts in the year end chart.

Chart Rewind: 06. Duck Sauce "Barbra Streisand"

Armand van Helden proves himself he's still in the game with this dance tune and one of my favourites of the year. It spent 13 weeks inside my top 10 and it was so close to getting top 5 (of the year).

What a great song, a real shame their follow up "Big Bad Wolf" wasn't really up to the standards set by this song.

Just when I was thinking 'whatever happened to Labrinth, he had a good song last year with Let The Sun Shine but he could do better I guess' he released the second single from his upcoming album Electronic Earth, "Earthquake". And it was amazing. Featuring hot UK rapper Tinie Tempah it spent 9 weeks in the top 5 including 2 at #1. This song proves that Labrinth can do amazing productions (that beat is amazing) and the middle 8 is amazing, the part where everything goes quiet then Tinie Tempah makes an earthquake with a brilliant rap. The only bad thing that's happened to this song is losing out the chart battle against Professor Green, which made me dislike RAAI.

Chart Rewind: 05. Tinie Tempah "Pass Out"

Tinie Tempah's first single 'Pass Out' made 5 weeks at the top of my charts. He is the best UK rapper and UK newcomer of 2010, also this is the best UK song, as the top 4 is made up of 3 US hits and a European hit.

Labrinth and Tinie took up the number 5 spot last year as well. Really deserved however as they are both amazing!

This is the highest weekly #2 on the year end chart. It peaked at #2 twice behind Rihanna's S&M then LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem - both of those songs are still to come, as well as Sak Noel's Loca People but in what order? :o Onto the song itself, when Jenny Lo leaked this on the internet I was NOT interested at all, as she had a big flop status. I then heard it on Scott Mills' show and it started to grow on me, before it blew up all over the entire world as well as hitting #1 in the UK. It's a great party tune that inspired many rip-offs (She Makes Me Wanna, Down For Whatever etc), but the original is always the best. Pitbull's raps are both excellent and add to the song but it wouldn't be what it is without Jennifer's sexy vocals. She's also got 479 million hits on Youtube - well done to her!

Chart Rewind: 04. Eminem feat. Rihanna "Love The Way You Lie"

Eminem is the only person to be the main artist on two songs that are in my top ten year end. And this is also Rihanna's highest charting single.

I don't love this song as much as I did. It's good but not Eminem's best song ever.
