Debut single from Freak Asylum, Kelly Llorenna's new band, Kelly being the voice of N-Trance and a solo 'star' in her own right with a few UK top 20 hits to her name in the early 00s. And also arguably one of my favourite ever singers :D

 

I didn't hold out much hope for this project, where Kelly has rebranded herself 'Lola Leethal' but this is ridiculously great, 80s influenced trash pop, hi-NRG but without being dance and instantly memorable with a great hook. My favourite Kelly related single for years!

 

Wow, incredible! You may be enclined to bomb the Numayanian embassy after I say this but I never really followed the career of Ms Llorena (I bought Set You Free and a couple of her other random singles though). Lola Leethal is a terrible name, and the video is a bit cliché, but the song is great. Shame I can't see it being a hit...

I think the fact that it's amassed 300 views in three weeks says it all about its chances of being a hit :( Ah well, amazing hidden gem - I'd have considered sending it to BJSC except the next contest is two months away. Seems to be going a bit unfairly ignored in the pop forum though...

Agreed, this is much more exciting than the One Direction and Pixie Lott albums put together (I'll give Olly Murs a bye, cos he's cute :kink:)

That's amazing. And so instant! I am LOVING what I'm hearing there! I haven't followed her career (:lol:, I didn't even know who she was until I read this last night, and I only knew of N-Trance via Set You Free, I'm a novice) but that is very good.

I did find the time! Already knew of Set You Free (:D), but out of that lot, my favourites off one listen were Forever and Brighter Day. The only one I couldn't find was Reaching Out though.

Forever, True Love Never Dies, Set You Free and Tell It To My Heart were all top ten hits in the UK :D

Tell It To My Heart is truly a crime against dance music.

 

 

Kelly Lorena is one of those acts you and I don't agree on, I can't stand her a gopd 80% of the time. (Set You Free being the major exception)

 

 

 

This however, is easily one of the best things she's done. It's not trashy dance that's so trashy it's shit, it's just a great bit of trashpop.
