Next five songs are out, Minningar by Guðrún Árný Karlsdóttir (Yohanna does Have Yourself A Merry Little Xmas with added key changes) is rather pleasant!

And Stund með þér is like an uptempo Icelandic version of Katie Melua's The Flood  Liking that too!

Ég kem með - 6/10 (Retro or what?! Annoying voice)

Minningar - 6/10 (Wow, a song from 2012! Are they sure? No, thanks)

Hjartað brennur - 7/10 (This is average. Better than the two previous borefests but still, nothing special)

Stund með þér - 9/10 (The chorus music is super catchy and attention-grabbing. Sounds like a proper grower, you will find something new each time listening to it.)

Hey - 3/10 (Back to a traditionally dull and awful Icelandic NF entry :magic: )

--------------------

So with 'Stund með þér' things don't look so bad... Amazing Heat 1 saves things muchly.

It's a huge shame Iris wasn't in this semi, she'd have sailed through! Can't say I'm keen on any of these five entries :(

IKR! Letting some DIRGE in instead of her. :( She'd still not have made it past Stattu Upp and Mundu Eftir Mér though.

I'm surprised that you don't care for Stund með þér, I thought that it would be right up your street! I love that and really like Minningar and Hjartað brennur (which is by the female singer from Euroband if I'm not mistaken). I'm surprised with how strong Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins has been this year actually, it was so dire last year...

Stund með þér doesn't do anything for me at all :( . I find it very weak. I'm really disappointed with Regina's track too, especially after Euroband and 2006's Þér við hlið/By Your Side. I liked six of last year's tracks, and so far this year I like 3, so it all rests on the next semi as far as which year I prefer goes.

Maybe they'll sound better live! Does this clash with anything on Saturday, MGP or DMGP I guess? :drama:

Yeah, both are on. I'll probably only watch DMGP. If MGP doesn't clash with it, I'll watch that too, but DMGP is my priority this weekend!

Yeah, as much as I love Icelandic dull presentator, unintelligible fast foreign speech and general greyness, I'mma be tuning in to watch DMGP too. Plus the Semi 2 isn't half as great as Semi 1 was.

Ég kem með - 6/10 Sounds okey, not a song I will look up again thou.

Hey - 3/10 Crap, but listenable.

Stund með þér - 8.0/10 Very good, love to have this in the final!

Hjartað brennur - 9/10 Wow, found something else in this semi final I like alot, not bad! Love the chours.

Minningar - 5.0 Boring

I hope Stund með þér and Hjartað brennur goes to the final.

If DMGP ends by 8:30 we can still make it to watch this :magic:

Tuned in just in time for Stund með þér

Icelandic is such a soothing and relaxing language to listen to, spoken and in song, lots of 'th' sounds.

Is it me or does Hjartað brennur sound a bit like Aste & Rikke from last year?
The awful Hey went through along with Hjartað brennur by Regina of Euroband fame. Gutted not to see Stund með þér not make it, neither of these will challenge Mundu Eftir Mér which is surely the front runner so far? Hoping for some Hi-NRG dance-pop in the third semi, of the This Is My Life/Je Ne Sais Quoi mould!

At least 'Hjartað brennur' is alright. 'Hey' is so awful, I'm not even surprised it got through! If quality is decreasing with each heat then Heat 3 will be the worst bunch of songs in the history of the world and beyond. 'Mundu Eftir Mér' and 'Stattu Upp' will definitely be the Top 2 if Heat 3 doesn't have any gold mines in it.

Aldrei sleppir mér - Pretty sure this is qualifying. Gorgeous. Background music is especially good. There are too many Greta Salóme's in the selection. Ha! The 'Mundu Eftir Mér' one was 'Gréta Salóme' though. STILL. - 9.5/10

Eilíf ást - And here it is, a dancey upbeat song, like Ricardo predicted! This is also quite good. Possibly a grower. - 8.5/10

Aldrei Segja Aldrei - Never say never! The very first few seconds were SOOOOOO GORGEOUS. And it seems the strings continued appearing. <3 I expect it to be epic live. - 8.5/10

Hugarró - HI MAGNI! If not for Sjonni's death, you'd have already gone to Eurovision (and DNQd) and back. Looks like this song could well be a contender for the win once again! I'll laugh if he finishes second for the second time in a row. Anyway, 'Hugarró' is AMAZING. ANTHEM. - 9.5/10

Augun þín - Now for the major weakling. I don't even hear the melody. Don't like it. Don't see how it could appeal to ANYONE but Macedonian disapora in Iceland, if there is one. Don't care about it. - 3/10

I feel that my 2 favourites ('Aldrei sleppir mér', 'Hugarró') will qualify, just like in Heat 1. Well, Magni is a dead cert for a spot in the Final anyway.

'Mundu Eftir Mér' remains the best song of the whole selection. #mundueftirmer2012baku

In fact, I'm now 99% certain this is going to be a 'Mundu Eftir Mér' vs. 'Hugarró' Top 2. Provided that 'Stattu Upp' isn't as popular as I think it is. In that case it will be Blue Opal vs. Magni. :(

I don't see it happening personally. Although there are three women singing it, and I have no idea how popular each one of them is. It sounds like a proper anthem though. My third favourite song of Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2012.

If not for dreadful Heat 2, this would've been my favourite NF selection yet!
