January 25, 201213 yr Hugarró is like a rock vocal version of Watergate's Heart Of Asia, it's 100 times better than his entry last year which indeed would have walked it if not for Sjonni's death. On that basis, Magni is surely going to Eurovision? :o
January 25, 201213 yr I only like Aldrei sleppir mér in this heat. I didn't like, nor understand the popularity of Magni's entry last year and I feel exactly the same about Hugarró. For me it has to be Mundu eftir mér that goes to Baku.
January 25, 201213 yr Author I'm all for the 'Mundi Eftir Mér' win too, but if it's 'Hugarró' (which is pretty much guaranteed, isn't it?) then I wouldn't mind either.
January 25, 201213 yr Aldrei sleppir mér - Pretty sure this is qualifying. Gorgeous. Background music is especially good. There are too many Greta Salóme's in the selection. Ha! The 'Mundu Eftir Mér' one was 'Gréta Salóme' though. STILL. - 9.5/10 Eilíf ást - And here it is, a dancey upbeat song, like Ricardo predicted! This is also quite good. Possibly a grower. - 8.5/10 Aldrei Segja Aldrei - Never say never! The very first few seconds were SOOOOOO GORGEOUS. And it seems the strings continued appearing. <3 I expect it to be epic live. - 8.5/10 Hugarró - HI MAGNI! If not for Sjonni's death, you'd have already gone to Eurovision (and DNQd) and back. Looks like this song could well be a contender for the win once again! I'll laugh if he finishes second for the second time in a row. Anyway, 'Hugarró' is AMAZING. ANTHEM. - 9.5/10 Augun þín - Now for the major weakling. I don't even hear the melody. Don't like it. Don't see how it could appeal to ANYONE but Macedonian disapora in Iceland, if there is one. Don't care about it. - 3/10 I feel that my 2 favourites ('Aldrei sleppir mér', 'Hugarró') will qualify, just like in Heat 1. Well, Magni is a dead cert for a spot in the Final anyway. 'Mundu Eftir Mér' remains the best song of the whole selection. #mundueftirmer2012baku In a rare turn of events, I agree with pretty much all of your comments and scores here! The first four songs are fantastic  High quality Icelandic selection this year! Considering how I hated Magni's song last year, I REALLY like Hugarró. Aldrei Segja Aldrei and Aldrei sleppir mér are also Hit Parade bound whilst Augun þín can piss off, saved the worst till last.
January 28, 201213 yr Author I almost forgot this is today. :o If this and MGP overlapped, Iceland would be a priority. I'm hoping that Heat 1 of Melodifestivalen next week will end by the time the final of this starts. Wouldn't want to miss it.
January 28, 201213 yr Author The lazy f***ing f***s must've FORGOTTEN to make the webcast available for the first 10 minutes and I missed the first song. Greta Salome is in ANOTHER song  Imagine if Aldrei Sleppir Mér also qualifies. btw, Magni - 10/10 - PERFECTION. He's walking it.
January 28, 201213 yr Author Aldrei Sleepir Mer - 9.5/10 - GRETA SALOME IS EVERYWHERE. She's going to have to change quickly in the final since this song is also qualifying to the final.
January 28, 201213 yr Author Augun þín - 0/10 - Rock number? MY ASS. Vocals are WAY too weak, no presence, awful screeching, stupid face. If he qualifies over GREAT GRETA or Magni (the latter is impossible though), there's something very wrong with Icelandic public. Looks like the uptempo song was the first. GOOD. Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Ljósið
January 28, 201213 yr Iceland have let the side down this year with no decent big pop/dance song :( That said, I'm far more impressed with the overall quality of their NF this year than last. I LOVE three of the songs in this week's semi and would be happy with any of Magni, Greta's trio or the song currently on qualifying.
January 28, 201213 yr The uptempo was sung by a middle aged man :o Magni definitely needs to qualify, if only because he's rekindled my love for this former #1 in my chart (by using the same melody); 32OGBFAVfG4
January 28, 201213 yr Obvious qualifiers again in Iceland, but they're fantastic ones  Magni to Eurovision!
January 28, 201213 yr Was that a wildcard to the final there for the best song from the 2nd semi? :o :cheer:
January 28, 201213 yr Author Was that a wildcard to the final there for the best song from the 2nd semi? :o :cheer: I know! SO HAPPY. Literally all of my favourites from each heat is through. Except for that dire Heat 2 with only one fave that turned out to be a wildcard  Wasn't Magni a wildcard pass last year by the way? :o
January 28, 201213 yr Author Gréta Salóme & Jónsi - Mundu Eftir Mér Blár Opal - Stattu Upp Regína Ósk Óskarsdóttir - Hjartað Brennur Simbi & Hrútspungarnir - Hey Magni Ásgeirsson - Hugarró Greta Salóme, Heiða and Guðrún Árný - Aldrei Sleppir Mér Rósa Birgitta Ísfeld - Stund Með Þér I wish we could erase songs 3 and 4 and replace them with Leyndarmál and Aldrei Segja Aldrei. It would be a PERFECT line-up for the final!
January 28, 201213 yr Gréta Salóme & Jónsi - Mundu Eftir Mér Blár Opal - Stattu Upp Regína Ósk Óskarsdóttir - Hjartað Brennur Simbi & Hrútspungarnir - Hey Magni Ásgeirsson - Hugarró Greta Salóme, Heiða and Guðrún Árný - Aldrei Sleppir Mér Rósa Birgitta Ísfeld - Stund Með Þér I wish we could erase songs 3 and 4 and replace them with Leyndarmál and Aldrei Segja Aldrei. It would be a PERFECT line-up for the final! It's an incredibly strong final for once, six of these seven have reached my chart at least :D I do like Hjartað Brennur but I agree that your replacements would make it even better, Aldrei Segja Aldrei is my favourite song that missed the final by far.
