Just as a matter of interest do they still use COBOL as a programming language?

It exists as COBOL 2002 and is object orientated like Java/C++

I did Cobol ifor my C&G In 1984 and don't understand the bit I quoted at all! ;)

I hate how people think that anyone who doesn't work, hasn't been to Uni and lives on benefits is thick. I'm far from being thick. :D

There's still a lot of old COBOL software out there. However, if it's that old then companies will avoid having to change it whenever possible. They'll do statutory changes but no more.

Can vaguely remember Data Division, Procedure Division.

I've never learnt COBOL but I have had to plough through program listings to try and work out what's going on.

I used to be able to read code, but I'm a bit rusty now though but I reckon I could still whip out a simple VisualBasic program.
Some of you people are disgusting. Do you know Common Sense personally? How do you know what he is and isn't able to claim? The problem with you lefties

I have had no issues whatsoever in the recession. People are making a big deal out of nothing.

So you're adding "generalising" and "ignorant" to your list of attributes? Wonderful.

I wasn't bragging but took exception to Scott calling me thick when I'm not thick at all.

Really..? You've certainly done nothing to prove your supposed intelligence on this forum, dunno about elsewhere... Craig was a racist and a bit of creepy git with some of the female members of the forum, and finally went one breach of the site rules too far, but at least he managed a coherent, cogent argument most of the time on this forum. So far, I've heard nothing from you that actually comes close to having a proper argument... And, not only that, you often completely contradict yourself...
