The story takes place in Hollywood between 1927 and 1932 and focuses on a declining male film star and a rising actress, as silent cinema grows out of fashion and is replaced by the talkies. The film is itself a silent film and in black-and-white. Dujardin won the Best Actor Award at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where the film premiered. ixqr8D7J_Kc Looks terrific kids!
November 26, 201113 yr This is such a bold film. Definitely one to see at the cinema rather than at home, it's going to be all about the big screen experience. Getting lots of early Academy buzz too.
December 17, 201113 yr This movie is transcendent. I cannot wait to see it again. f*** NYE, this is where it's at.
January 2, 201213 yr That was so good and although the script was cliché it managed to captivate the atmosphere of those times. Beautifully shot, Jean Dujardin was incredible and such a nostalgic feeling. The soundtrack suited perfectly too. I loved the scene with Peppy hugging herself with George's coat and the way they inserted speech in the film
January 12, 201213 yr This was incredible and the ending was just perfect. If that dog doesn't win Best Supporting Actor I will commit. Why would you eat popcorn and nachos in a silent movie though? JUST SAYIN'. I loved the scene with Peppy hugging herself with George's coat and the way they inserted speech in the film Ditto. I loved the scene where he has a dream about the sound effects.
March 16, 201213 yr I go very often to the cinema and i watch a lot of movies every year. I believe that "The Artist" is a masterpiece!!
