Kasabian enter ahead of Timberlake on download chart

Source Music Week

Kasabian, who in a first for the industry released latest single Empire as a download and physical single at the same time, have entered the download chart higher than Justin Timberlake's latest effort Sexyback.

Empire leads the new entries on the chart by landing at seven with Empire (Columbia), while Timberlake's RCA-issued single lags one place behind at eight.

Neither new entries have toppled the top six singles, which remain static this week with Shakira's Hips Don't Lie in the lead at number one. Lily Allen, Rihanna, James Morrison, Rogue Traders and Aguilera remain constant in the next five slots.

A similar pattern is repeated in the remainder of the Top 20. Razorlight's In The Morning slips one place to nine, while Nelly Furtado's Maneater rounds off the Top 10.

Paolo Nutini, The Kooks, Gnarls Barkley, Sandi Thom, Snow Patrol, Automatic, Ne-Yo, McFly, Busta Rhymes and the Zutons stay steady in virtually the same places as last week
