Just looked back at the Sun at the end of November and they said then that Will was the one not to have yet signed and that Ricky Wilson was hoping he wouldn't so he could step in but it was unlikely. I'd forgotten that when his name came up again.

Jessie J is going to be mouthy, I can tell.

I hope not Ros :( who gave her the right to ban sob stories??

If someone genuinely has a sore throat, although its not nice for the person trying to sing, I don't consider it to be a sob story!

What I don't like is the sympathy stories about their personal lives that contestants tell to try and get the judges to put them through, I think they should be stopped.

Glad Will seemed to have first choice over Ricky :D

love Phil xxx

Ahh I'm so excited that it's looking like an almost certainty that Will is going to be a coach!! Right back from when I first saw the Voice in the US, I KNEW Will would be perfect, if they ever did a British version and now they are, thank god the BBC agree!!

It really is such a great format, right from the start there will be no freakshows as only people who can atleast you know 'sing' are put through to face the coaches in the blind auditions

The blind auditions are what will make viewers be attracted to the show, because they are so entertaining, the coaches squabbling it out over the best acts, will be really interesting, if more than one coach turns around it comes down to the contestant to pick a coach, will just be rooting for the best ones to go to Will, like I was with Adam who after a slow start did end up with the very best and the eventual winner on his team.

The only reservation I have about it is the panel, the main thing that made the US one such a hit was the chemistry between the coaches, Adam and Christina's flirty rivalry made great viewers and the 4 as a whole really made great TV as equals. With Jessie being named first and all these stories in the press, it almost seems like she sees herself as some kind of head coach. I quite like the panel as individuals as they are quite diverse, and can offer something different to the variety of contestants but as a unit I'm not sure. The banter between Christina, Blake, Cee Lo and Adam was great particularly as they were willing each other to press the button, I can't see Jessie, Will, Will.I.Am and Tom having that same kind of warm banter? I'm sure Will will get on great with all and you never know he and Will.I.Am may become bosom buddies  but it's essential that chemistry is established between the coaches from the off and if anything I can only see a pair up of Jessie and Will.I.Am and Tom and Will rather than all getting along, hope I'm wrong, it's a pretty essential component to it's success.

Of course nothing has been confirmed in black and white yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time now surely!

Will Young would be 'serious' Voice judge

Will Young would take judging 'The Voice' "very seriously".

The 'Come On' singer has been tipped with a role on the BBC talent show and is hopeful of landing a slot on the programme alongside Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am because he is such a big fan of the US version of the programme.

He said: "There's rumours, continual rumours. Officially I still don't know. I'd love to do it, but still officially I don't know.

"I think it's great, it's brilliant. The one in America is a great show. And I like the ethos of it, I wouldn't do it if it wasn't something I believed in - I really mean that.

"I think I'm quite a nice person. But whoever I would work with I'd take it very seriously. Not from a 'I want to win' point of view, I'd want to do the best for the singers so I would expect them to work hard. It's an opportunity; it would be a team effort."

Will also hit out at 'X Factor' bosses, accusing them of "setting up" Frankie Cocozza, who was dismissed from the competition for rule breaking following weeks of wild partying.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I had a major problem with that Frankie Cocozza thing, I had a major problem with them showing VTs of him going out, don't tell me that's off the cuff because you have to get permission to film in these places. You look at him as a bad boy when he goes off and does something and that's it. What's that saying to the public?

"They basically set him up, they didn't set him up to take drugs but they applauded him and then... it's s**t. I was really annoyed about it. They led him a merry dance and if they say they didn't they're wrong. Also, what's it saying to kids? Isn't it great you can go out and drink and smoke, it's really cool, so they're showing that message but then they go 'No, no it's against the rules'."

The former 'Pop Idol' winner admitted he is not enjoying this year's 'X Factor' as much as previous seasons.

He added: "I've seen bits of 'X Factor', I watched it at the weekend. I think it's good but there's something missing I think, I don't know what it is. There's not as much engagement."

Will's album 'Echoes' is out now.

He's got to know by now surely, I mean, this is going to take up a couple of months of his working life and if another offer was to come along, a film or something, he wouldn't turn it down just on the off chance that he might get the Voice.

It's the BBC's show and I suppose Will just has to go along with it and wait for the official announcement, but he's a busy guy and he's booking for a year in advance now with the acting parts he's going for, he won't have been waiting for months on end for this to be decided I'm sure.

I think he knows too but as been told to keep stum as they want to stagger the announcements.

I wonder what this is about.

Hopefully we'll know one way or the other then :D

That's sickening. Sounds like he's been strung along. Won't be watching now on piinciple..

Sounds like that to me now. :( Wonder how many Master classes the rest of them have given. <_<

Oh well, it's their loss and I'm not a fan of Danny O'Donoghue and the Script either, I think Will will be disappointed not to be chosen as a judge though as I really think he wanted to do it.

Personally I wasn't fussed either way, but I've always enjoyed what he's taken on in the past and I'm sure he would have given it 100%.

I'll not be watching this now either, as truthfully, I would have only watched it if Will was going to be in it. :)

Gutted and shocked that Will didn't get it, and even more so how a name out of NOWHERE did. From that last interview with Jessie, it seemed like even she thought Will was doing it and also the journalists out there from the tweets clearly thought Will would be doing it too. Really strange for me, I never so much saw even a fan suggest Danny.

I like The Script a lot, think Danny will do well, but can't believe they thought he was a better choice than Will, can only think the decision was made based on replicating the US version, Adam Levine was the handsome and only known face of a popular but not massively huge band and that's what Danny is the pretty boy lead singer like Adam was. It also may help that The Script are more known internationally, they've been pretty successful in America, touring and their music is used on soundtracks to loads of popular shows like Greys Anatomy, so they would be quite recognisable. They're also a Sony act who have got a concert DVD out at the minute, so they must get decent sales for Sony to see that as viable. I'm pretty sure one of the top contestants sang The Man Who Can't Be Moved to great acclaim too, but as this is a show for Britain primarily that shouldn't have been a factor, you can't tell me 'Danny from The Script' is more well known in this country then Will Young!

The thing that's really gutting though, is that unlike the XF, the public took to the coaches massively, The Voice has single handedly revived interest in Maroon 5 and Christina for example, both acts who had massively underperformed with their previous albums. It would have been great for Will's profile.

I'm still going to watch as I love the show but get the feeling the BBC have already cocked up something that could have been great, with a weird choice of panel and questionable presenting 'team'. I think the UK will love the format but can't see them taking to that panel.

will_young31 Will Young

The voice came, the voice went. They wanted to go more rock.... Should have dusted off my Leather jacket! Hey ho

Obviously the excuse he's been given but the Script rock. They must be having a laugh. They are as pop as they come!

Just said the same on Twitter! What a crap excuse, The Script aren't in any way rock! If they wanted a 'rock' star they could atleast have gone for an indie lead singer like Gary Lightbody or their supposedly 'considered' choice Ricky Wilson but they're not pretty enough are they. B-) Can't help but be cynical about their motivations for going with Danny, the guy's talented and I really like his band, but they're kidding themselves if they truly think they can pass off the reason for choosing Danny and not Will as 'not rock enough', it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with Danny being a pretty boy (and straight) lead singer ala Adam Levine.

Really disappointed in the BBC, someone obviously had a word and got Will switched with Danny at the last minute, just WHERE did that even come from?!

The format of this show is great but they've definitely f'ed up before it's even began!

I'm sure Will knows the real reason behind their decision. I like the Script's music, thought they were great on the album show but Danny's vocals were goddam awful at one of their shown festival appearance.

Think they need to change the name of the show!
