Just said the same on Twitter! What a crap excuse, The Script aren't in any way rock! If they wanted a 'rock' star they could atleast have gone for an indie lead singer like Gary Lightbody or their supposedly 'considered' choice Ricky Wilson but they're not pretty enough are they. B-) Can't help but be cynical about their motivations for going with Danny, the guy's talented and I really like his band, but they're kidding themselves if they truly think they can pass off the reason for choosing Danny and not Will as 'not rock enough', it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with Danny being a pretty boy (and straight) lead singer ala Adam Levine.

Really disappointed in the BBC, someone obviously had a word and got Will switched with Danny at the last minute, just WHERE did that even come from?!

The format of this show is great but they've definitely f'ed up before it's even began!

I'm sure Will knows the real reason behind their decision. I like the Script's music, thought they were great on the album show but Danny's vocals were goddam awful at one of their shown festival appearance.

Think they need to change the name of the show!

Going out tonight with an appetite for destruction - guns and roses?

Their lame excuse seems to have really got to him.

I love how the exec producer of the voice as just started following Will...he must have been told Will was talking about it :P

Bet he expected Will to just crawl away quietly.

@BBCTheVoiceUK shocker, Danny isnt trending, should've splashed the cash on #WillYoung

 i did notice that ...Will trended just for not getting it.

What really upsets me most about this is how Will has been used to publisice the show. He is the only one who has been strongly linked to the show who is currently actively promoting so obviously he's been asked about it.

That's what irritates me most over the hype after JJ was announced as been directed at Will and yet he ends up with nothing...even now apart from some of his fans there seems no interest in Danny from the script...and thats another thing that gets me, everytime he is mentioned they have to say 'the one from The Script' because no one knows who he is, i have seen a few tweets saying this to the BBC :P

I've had a feeling this was what would happen after he tweeted last night!..He clearly did think he had it and then he must of found out last night..after months of waiting! what a lad of crap. I hate all that reality shit anyway but i would of watched this ..but they can do one now. :arrr:

Gutted for him.

I see the bitter Neil Sean is relishing this news.. :arrr: He'd better watch it..the mood Will is in

He's a pratt. He says that Will lost out to Tom Jones - one day he'll get the facts straight.

Lots of support for Will. :D And one young girl getting her knickers in a twist. Don't see much support for her Danny - ah diddums.

It's all a bit odd considering Jessie thought Will had the job too:

Jessie J herself appeared to confirm his involvement, telling a tabloid newspaper that she is pleased to be a fan of who she will work with.

He probably wants to know what the reaction is - well Ithink he may have discovered which way the wind is blowing - even Scott Mills and Jo Whiley have Tweeted their dismay

@jowhiley Jo Whiley

I thought it was very positive they said it was inexplicable that they did not choose Will that he was more well known and loved

Very sympathetic towards him. Seems they used one of Cowell's tactics, at Will's expense I might add, to get more publicity.I doubt it would have made the news otherwise. ;)

Ah thanks. They are right on both accounts.

I recorded it in case it annoyed me any more but could listen later if it was OK.

I cant believe how supportive the media are being.

Will Young’s knock-backs

By GORDON SMART, Showbiz Editor

WILL Young erased the memory of being dropped from the judging panel of The Voice – by going out and getting hammered.

He wrote on Twitter: "The voice came, the voice went.

"Going out tonight with an appetite for destruction – guns and roses?"

He did what all disappointed men do and headed to his local.

And it must have been a good night.

He tweeted yesterday: "Major hangover. Just need to get these legs to work."

A source said: "Will went to The Joiners Arms, near his flat in Hackney, east London, with a few mates.

"He seemed in a remarkably good mood and was definitely enjoying a few drinks.

"Will chatted to fans and posed for pictures.

"Then after a fair few drinks, he hit the dancefloor as Rihanna blared out."

Just as well the DJ didn't play anything by The Script.

And TV Kev From the Mirror( from C5 news last night)

@CameronYardeJnr You missed my The Voice-style spin chair soliloquy? It was modern art. Dada-esque television.

@CameronYardeJnr Will Young furious after being replaced as a judge at the last minute. Google it. They should have kept him.
@CameronYardeJnr Popular, intelligent, articulate, likeable ... everything the BBC hates.

I'm amazed too. :)

Danny had better shine in the role or the producers will have scored a massive own goal.
