The Sun was definite before it was Will and the one from tha kaiser chiefs was second choice now they seem to have changed that.

BLACK Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am has finally agreed a deal to help judge BBC talent show The Voice — trousering £500k

THE BBC has finally decided on the panel for their new singing programme The Voice

The US rapper will join Jessie J, Tom Jones and either Will Young or Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson on the panel next year.

Will.i.am said last night: "I'm proud to be doing The Voice UK because the UK was the first place I saw success."

The BBC are under fire for splashing out on the show as other departments are cut.

We revealed they tried to hire Kylie Minogue for £1million until critics cried foul.

They are paying £22million over two years for the licence to the show, already a hit in the US.

Tom Jones is thought to be on similar pay to Will.i.am but Jessie and Will or Ricky "significantly less".

Oh dear! :( That doesn't sound as promising.

The Kaiser Chiefs for me are one of the most over rated bands in my opinion.

The other one might have more of a chance if they want different genres covered. :(

I'm hoping they are just hedging their bets because Will hasn't signed a contract yet. I'll be gutted if he misses out.

I'm very much afraid that this might flop. IMO the beeb is not making wise choices for judges. A lot of people I've heard and seen discussing this are fed up with having yet another American foisted upon the U.K. Tom Jones is like marmite and there are those, like myself, who, whilst acknowledging the voice, would not watch him by choice. I'd rather have seen both Ricky and Will as judges. If the pattern of 3 men and 1 woman is set in stone then I'm not sure who else I'd add but maybe Annie Lennox and one of the young Brit rappers.

Will has made good decisions for his career this far so must trust his judgement on this one.

Well I'm still trying to figure out who the hell thought that 72 year old Tom Jones was the right choice for this?

I'm still not sure either. I dare say he'll be getting best advice.

But if he does it, he should push to be the lead mentor! Tom Jones could well be past it and he's no oil painting to watch every week either. Jessie J has been around five minutes and couldn't even hold the tune on XF the other week, wil.I.am has never impressed me and he's no singer himself, and as for Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby, bland and lightweight. I seem to remember Ricky from Kaiser Chiefs being mentioned eons ago too. They seem to be taking a leaf out of the XF book keeping people guessing, which becomes irritating IMO.

I think Will must have spoken as he did to Jo Whiley very deliberately. If it was at a delicate stage he could have told her beforehand it was off limits, so I reckon he had a reason for saying what he did, maybe it was to up the ante in negotiations, or push them towards a decision, or show if it didn't happen it wasn't him that scuppered it.

The mix of mentors is going to be really important to how successful it is, never mind what the talent is out there. Surely they would have to screen test the possible mentors together, they couldn't just decide on a couple of conversations like Will said..

The Star... :D I'm hopeful again!

I caught up with Jessie after she performed at Radio 1xtra’s Live in Brixton gig.

And she told me she couldn’t wait to start judging on new reality show The Voice, alongside Will.i.am. But the singer didn’t get off to the best start with her new bosses when she let slip that Tom Jones and Will Young would also be on the panel, even though the BBC haven’t yet announced it.

Jessie told me: “The Voice is going to be amazing. I’m shitting myself but in a good way. “I can’t wait to meet Tom Jones. He’s Tom Jones, after all.

“I’ve never met Will Young before, either, so that will be cool. “I’m a big fan of them all, which is a good job because it would be horrible if I didn’t like any of them.

“I’ve met Will.i.am briefly and can’t wait to get started.

“I’m really happy that I’m the only girl on the panel.” To be fair to the lass, it was the worst kept secret in TV.

The rest of the interview is just disgusting.

I saw that this morning hope its true :)

Another one

X Factor is becoming less innovative and more and more predictable as time goes on, which means the British public will be thrilled to learn that there is a new alternative in the world of TV talent shows.

'The Voice' will be coming to a television screen near you in the New Year on the BBC and is going to be fronted by Black Eyed Peas legend Will I Am, which will no doubt give the new show the credibility it deserves.  After all, it's refreshing to have a talent show about vocal ability rather than image.

Will I Am, who is reportedly being paid half a million British pounds for his new job, said "I'm proud to be doing The Voice UK because the UK was the first place I saw success."

Jessie Jay and Tom Jones have also been confirmed as judges on the new show, and Will Young has been confirmed as the fourth and final judge.  There was a possibility that Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs could have filled the fourth position, but unfortunately it appears that they have settle with Will Young.  Oh well, that's disappointing.

Hosting the new show are Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates.  'The Voice' will hit screens in the Spring of 2012.

Thanks SWF and Sunday!

They make it sound more likely. What would have been so good about Ricky Wilson?

Thanks Sunday and Bev. Looking more likely.

It's only that mag that is disappointed with Will. Every other comment I've read on the net has been pro his choice.

Yes i have been surprised at the support for Will. i have seen lots of Negative posts about the other 3 but that is the first negative i have seen for Will even people who dont like him recognize he's a good choice.

Yes, most people would recognise he's the embodiment of a show like this, maybe that person has a thing for the Kaiser Chiefs, who knows? :

It takes all sorts I suppose. Maybe he could write the winners song. He'd better start now though, with such deep lyrics like Ruby, Ruby, Ruby!

Morning everyone :D

I so hope that Will is definitely going to do the Voice, what a great platform for promo for both him as a person and for Echoes  and of course for us lot to see him on there week on week  He really is the obvious choice

I would have also liked Annie Lennox on the panel too she would have been a great choice IMO and also Bev Knight what a great singer she is :D

and for my last choice I would also have liked one of the young rappers or Charlotte Church, as she can sing both pop and classical.

I don't know a lot about Jessie J but the programmes I've watched where she's been singing, if she has been singing live, then I'm ok with that choice for that reason only, I don't much like her attitude! the wee-ing in cups :puke2: even if she is just taking the p!ss (pardon the pun) it's a revolting thing to say! and the amputee comment ... how dare she!! and just for the fact that she's only been around for 5 mins.

Tom Jones, ok I do agree he is a bit old, and not really an oil painting, but boy can he belt out a song, and I think he comes over really well, I also think he can relate well to youngsters too, he has a nice personality, at least he is from the UK, he's been round the block a few times too, so I am ok with him.

Will-i-am ??? hmmm now here's where I have a problem! Firstly I have seen him on TV singing at charity gigs, didn't the Peas do one for CIN one year? god they were DIRE in a huge way! so out of tune it was ridiculous and cringe-worthy! ugh! If he can't cut it live then wtf is he doing on there AND being head judge AND not from the UK. Spoke to Barry about it he did say that Will-i-am comes over very well, but if that's all he's good at then why has he been chosen? :(

So I will watch with baited breath

Love Phil xxx

The Sun

No excuses ... Jessie J has revealed she will be a tough judge on The Voice

Published: Today at 01:37

JESSIE J has banned sob stories on new X Factor rival The Voice.

The singer, who will judge the show alongside Will Young, Will.i.am and Tom Jones, told TV Biz:

"No one wants to know if you have a sore throat — that's how hard I am going to be on the contestants."

Jessie is backing girlband Little Mix to beat Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily to win The X Factor this weekend.

She said: "Little Mix are cool girls.

"It's nice to hang out with them and make sure that they realise that there is a world beyond winning and there's a world beyond X Factor."

The Sun does not even mention Ricky now
