September 22, 20159 yr Thanks TT. He's always, so far as I can remember, been very careful in his comments about other artists. The only time he has really spoken his mind was when he called Louis Walsh a name on air a few years ago :P

September 25, 20159 yr Author Will Young has 'man crush' on Sir Tom Jones The 'Joy' singer was saddened when the 'It's Not Unusual' hitmaker slammed his recent axing as a coach on 'The Voice' because he thinks the veteran star is "amazing". He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It was so unlike him (to speak out). I'm sad if he thinks he's been mistreated, I've got a bit of a man crush on Tom Jones, I just wanna be his best friend. I just think he's amazing. He's such a cool dude." The 36-year-old star feels particularly bad for Tom after his own bad experience on 'The Voice', when he was led to believe he would be one of the coaches when the show started, only for the slot to be given to The Script frontman Danny O'Donoghue. He added: "I really empathise with him, I had an experience with 'The Voice' when I got given it as a judge and they took it away the next day! Well they can. What it makes me realise is TV is a very cruel business. "In fact, TV is probably the cruelest business of the lot and then music and then film I'd say. The harshness of the TV world, we cannot forget that, it was sad to hear that he was upset." Will - who shot to fame after winning 'Pop Idol' in 2002 - was upset not to be a part of 'The Voice' because the ethos of the show appeals to him He said: "I like 'The Voice', because they mentor people and I think there's pastoral care. I'm really interested in mentoring young musicians and younger musicians. And I do it in my own life. I was talking to someone the other day actually. "I do workshops, and singing workshops, I pretend I'm like a really good teacher and I don't know what I'm doing, I'm like 'You're late!' I did it quite a lot when I was on my break. I went back to my old school in Norwich." Will's new single 'Joy' is out this week and his sixth album '85% Proof' is available now.

September 30, 20159 yr Author Thanks for all the snippets TT, wish Heart would actually play his songs a bit more. Sadly it's a bit of a pipe dream to think of Heart playing any Will's current music. :(, They'll probably play LRN to advertise Campbell Park! Edited September 30, 20159 yr by truly talented
September 30, 20159 yr Author Tuned in just at the right time. Advertised the gig and how much they were looking forward to seeing him perform.. Said Who Am I was their favourite video with both being ex Blue Peter presenters. Although very complimentary about how well the album has done and loving the video for Joy no play of any of Will's music! Edited September 30, 20159 yr by truly talented
September 30, 20159 yr They won't play him - he's not on their list and hasn't been for years. It was a rubbish local station even before Heart took them over. I haven't listened to local radio for years.
October 2, 20159 yr Author Nothing new but a nice write up in the Mirror. Having that number 1 album does wonders for the press' perception. Thirteen years after winning the inaugural series of Pop Idol, Will Young remains a multi-million-selling, Brit Award-winning success story. He has defied the curse of reality pop TV – and a public spat with Pop Idol boss Simon Cowell – and this year’s 85% Proof is the Berkshire-bred star’s fourth No 1 album. He also has an acclaimed stage and screen acting career, but Will insists he still has countless ambitions, and his dream of appearing on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury inspired his latest single, Joy. “I was thinking what kind of song would I want to play there, so I came up with a lyric and we wrote this really happy song,” says Will, 36. “I’ve played at Glastonbury a couple of times, but not the pyramid stage. “I’ve been going there for 17 years now. If that happened it would be wonderful.” Will went public with his sexual orientation right at the start of his career and nowadays serves as a mentor for young LGBT people. And through his work with mental health charity Pace, Will has seen first hand the problems many others face. “The suicide and self-harm statistics are awful,” he says. “I just wish people could see what was happening. “I have real empathy when I see people struggling in their lives. The situation for young LGBT people who get homophobic bullying could so easily change if the government just made more of an effort. “We need a white paper on it – I’ve learned that from meeting ministers. Just ploughing in doesn’t really get much done, so that’s the next thing. It needs to change and it makes me angry.” Since becoming famous, Will’s personal experience of homophobic prejudice has faded away. “Over the years, I’ve had run-ins because I’m a public person who’s gay,” he reveals. “So that’s going to happen, but it hasn’t happened for a long time which is a representation of how far we’ve come.” And Will says he never considered hiding his sexuality from his fans. “It wasn’t hard for it to be public,” he admits. “Maybe it was a little bit nerve-wracking to begin with, but with me there was no sense that I was ever going to do anything different. I was happy and if it meant I wasn’t going to have a career that was cool. I wasn’t going to live a lie.” Annie Lennox and David Bowie were both models for cross- dressing Will. “I met Annie after winning Pop Idol,” he says, “and told her what she’d done for women is unbelievable. In fact, what she’s still doing is unbelievable.” One of Will’s favourite career memories is of working with soul legend James Brown. “To become a friend of his was brilliant,” he smiles. “He gave me some great advice – always leave the party early and always dress smart for work.” Perhaps Brown wouldn’t have appreciated Will’s latter-day penchant for wearing dresses. “Oh, he wouldn’t mind that,” Will responds. “This was a man who wore capes and onesies... he had it all coming out!” Another ambition Will cherishes is the thought of becoming a parent. “I’d love to,” he admits, “kids are amazing and I’d really love to do that. I’ll see what life brings me. Whatever happens, I’ll definitely do more and more stuff with kids. They’re so enlightening.” ● NEW SINGLE JOY IS OUT NOW. UK TOUR STARTS OCTOBER 9 AT CAMPBELL PARK, MILTON KEYNES. Report to Thanks to Kathryn.
October 3, 20159 yr Author My Style: Will Young October 02, 2015 | My Style Will Young is an English singer-songwriter and actor. He was the winner of the 2002 inaugural series of the TV music contest Pop Idol and in 2013 he was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in Cabaret. Will's latest single, Joy, was released recently. Please describe your style in three words. Sweat patch avoidant. What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed? Doing it in the dark. Do you believe in role models? No. I think we are all our own role models, and I strive to be the best person I can in life. What are your favourite fabrics? Linen and cashmere. Linen because it allows me to stay cool in the summer and cashmere because it keeps me perfectly warm in the winter. How can you go wrong? Are there any style combinations that you object to? I do object to an oversized suit teamed up with square toed shoes. Which city has the best-dressed men? Lagos in Nigeria. Their combination of smart suits and vibrant colours creates their own unique style, and I love it. Would you say that you are conservative or bold? I am a mixture of both. I'm happy to wear a prim tea-dress but with muddy farmers boots. What are the rules in the way you dress? My only rule is to feel as comfortable as possible. Celebrities and style... Is something rather boring. Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of? You can never have enough white T-shirts. They look great under a jacket, great with jeans, and great with boxer shorts. A man should always look like... Himself. Who taught you what you know about style? My stylist Susan Hildebrandt. She taught me the importance of a well-fitted jacket and how to get the best silhouette, no matter what the style. How do you select your clothing every morning? In panic. What is your biggest regret? Blonde-highlighted tong straightened waxed hair. The three essential things a man should know about style are... A great suit hides everything, nothing beats a white shirt, and don't wear blocky shoes. Do you have any shopping rituals? I am quick and deadly, just like a lion kills! We will never see you wearing... Shorts with cargo style pockets. The most stylish person you have ever seen... Grace Jones. What is the first thing you notice on a man? His shoes (and then his bottom). The one image that defined your approach to style... The cover of the album 'David Bowie Live In San Francisco'. The perfect silhouette and the perfect colour. Which new designers do you follow and why? Craig Green and J.W.Anderson. They're incredibly confident and everything is done for a reason, not for show. I have the utmost respect for them. The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is... Jacket and shoes. Can't pick one! What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe? A Raf Simons cashmere trench coat, a Lanvin spring coat and all my Ann Demeulemeester items. Is comfort an enemy of style? Yes, it is. Which designer never fails to impress you? Ann Demeulemeester. She creates clothes that are comfortable and always have a sense of intrigue about them. The manner in which the clothes are made makes me feel a million dollars. Who would you like to recommend for My Style? Susan Hildebrandt, one of the most stylish people I know. Adam Reed and Paul Percival from Percy and Reed Hairdressers, because a good haircut is actually more important than the clothes. The best words of advice you have ever heard? If in doubt wear black, and never drink Yellow Snow. https://twitter.com/fashionwelike/status/649981437828046848 Some querky answers.
