It's not the fact that she's fabricated that's the problem though, it's what she's actually been made to stand for. I don't think many people her are bothered about how authentic she is, it's Buzzjack.

Her lips are very disturbing. I mean, if you're gonna get injections then at least make sure it's done properly.

 

The fabrication of Lana Del Rey is more problematic than Lady Gaga, because they are trying to make Lana appeal to a more alternative audience who, in my little understanding, care alot more about authenticity and sincerity.

So it's a problem perceived by the target audience - which is the only problem that matters as they will be the ones buying product.

Right, one of the foundations of alternative music was the work of a certain Mr D. Bowie, who was about as authentic and sincere as David Cameron.

 

Well this shows that I was talking about something I didn't know anything about - I was looking for an origin for the 'controversy' surrounding her.

Although I do always consider hipsters to be part of an 'alternative' crowd.

Why would you want to? It's in the thread.

 

And that doesn't mean that a one second clip is nice to look at. It's like saying a nice word over and over and over and over again. It loses its meaning without context. This is the perfect example of something that is beautiful being ruined by making an animated gif out of it. A still picture from the video is much more elegant that an animated gif. This is just my aesthetic view. I just think they are mechanical, brutal and ugly - no matter what the source material is.

I agree on this part, I mean the injection on her lips isn't even balanced and one part of it bumps up more than the other part :huh:

I find her songs to be really entrancing and I do feel her songs are very sincere. There's something so mystical about her.

 

I don't care what her lips look like, what has that got to do with her music? :P

I wasn't mad about 'Video Games', but 'Born To Die' is beautiful, as is the video for it. :wub: I hope this will be a huge hit for her when it's released.
