June 14, 201213 yr Feel a bit sorry for Ireland, could get to 4/5 nil. Been really sloppy at times and have been punished.
June 14, 201213 yr Here's James McClean, shame for the lad that his first appearance comes when Ireland are 3-0 down and heading out of the competition. Should have started sooner, even in the last game. Not a game changer by any means but he'd give the opposition something to think about.
June 14, 201213 yr Spain are too good! I jokingly predicted a 5-0 win before the game, and it looks like that could be possible now! I can't see them coming any lower than 2nd in the whole thing now...
June 14, 201213 yr Spain are too good! I jokingly predicted a 5-0 win before the game, and it looks like that could be possible now! I can't see them coming any lower than 2nd in the whole thing now... Genuinely HOPING for 5-0 at this stage. I have a bet on and if it's 4-0 I've to pay out!
June 14, 201213 yr I gave up watching the match after 3 nil, I just knew Spain would thrush the Irish.
June 14, 201213 yr Spain are great, but I'm sure most teams would look good up against Ireland Still think they'll miss Villa and Puyol as the tournament progresses. Germany winners for me
June 14, 201213 yr Author Ireland didn't press the Spanish nearly enough, they were made to look even better than they actually are because they were facing a sub-par team that gave them time on the ball. Ireland's midfield got completely left behind at times as well, I can see England getting something against Spain let alone Germany.
June 15, 201213 yr Paddy Power: To win Spain 5/2 Germany 11/4 France 9/1 England 12/1 Russia 12/1 Italy 14/1 Portugal 14/1 Croatia 25/1 Holland 25/1 Ukraine 40/1 Denmark 50/1 Poland 50/1 Czech Republic 66/1 Sweden 100/1 Greece 250/1 Ireland [Out of competition] Top Goalscorer Mario Gomez 2/1 Fernando Torres 4/1 Alan Dzagoev 15/2 Mario Mandzukic 14/1 Karim Benzema 16/1 Cesc Fabregas 18/1 Andriy Schevchenko 20/1 Robin Van Persie 25/1 Antonio Di Natale 40/1 Cristiano Ronaldo 50/1
June 15, 201213 yr Bendtner charged with improper conduct for his 'Paddy Power' underpants celebration against Portugal LOL. What a hero.
June 15, 201213 yr Wow I don't think I've seen that happen before. Well definitely not in a major tournament Match will be played tomorrow if it doesn't go ahead later today
June 15, 201213 yr I think the last match that happened was in the 50s when Czechoslovakia hosted, or one of the near neighbours in the World Cup, my grandad would know.
June 15, 201213 yr There'll apparently be an inspection at 6 to decide whether the match goes ahead or not Good news for England if it is delayed as Ukraine will have a day less to prepare for the match on Tuesday
June 15, 201213 yr Its simpler to travel to one of the other venues to play it as well even if they have to travel to Poland to play it. I would hate for them to just void the match if they don't play it tomorrow.
June 15, 201213 yr I was expecting something more spectacular from Ukraine after their opening match, after the French scored twice in a spate of 3 minutes the game became rather slow, the Ukranians just fell to pieces they couldn't get back in the game. England need a result now.
June 16, 201213 yr Czech Republic top the group with Greece 2nd. Who would have thought? That'll teach England not be complacent vs. Ukraine
