It's that time of year again!!!!

 

 

 

The mods are still thrashing out the finer details, but we should have nominations opening in a week-ish. Once all the finer points are sorted out we'll confirm dates. Ashton will be hosting at least one Semi-final and Le Grand Finale.

 

 

 

We are hoping to see the return of the BJSC Awards also, just after TBO but that can run along side XLI quite easily.

 

 

 

 

I can also confirm that beginning in Nov 2012 we will be doing some thing a little special to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Buzzjack Song Contest.

But... who gets nominated in the Best Of...? Would there be a week where all the songs this year to be put into voting and then the finals for it or would it be picked by the mods..? :unsure:

I MILDLY REGRET ever coming up with the idea of The Best Of but in the absence of anything else to do I shall be playing along.

I know for sure that Tinnmark won't qualify for the first time in TBO... I don't think we stand a good chance in TBO Rejects either...

I am really looking forward to this now! :wub: Should be interesting to see if I can qualify with something else alongside Rachel Platten, but I severely doubt it, tbh. The Rejects should be even more interesting in that manner.

Heh, me neither, but it's FUN! And since no-one likes spin-offs, it seems like the sort of thing we should be doing over the festive period.

During the nominations, you send either 5 or 10 nominations for each of the contests you participated in (or them all) to the mod in charge of the nominations. From there we take the most nominated songs and a couple of wild-cards into our Semi-Finals. The top 10 from each semi join the 10 winners in the final where we crown the best song of the last decade.

I'd also like to take this chance to say I TOLD YOU SO to Tom/the mods who said Sunday Girl was a CERT for the Sound of 2012 when they vetoed Love U More and refused to believe me when I said she was basically washed up by now!

I'm guessing out of the 5/10 per contest you cannot nominate yourself? :P Need to ask to make sure :lol: and does this mean that I can't nominate the contests which I didn't participate in?

You can nominate in all the contests, but at least the ones you participated in. And no, you can't nominate yourself.

Essentially, yes. But wait before it all starts and everything will be explicitly explained, I'm sure.

 

And I can't wait for this. I've had 5 Top 10's this year, hoping at least one of them makes the FINAL (last year I had none :cry: ).

Woo. Hopefully I can get two entries in there this year! I am yet to be in a Best Of! (i think not even queen Keri made it!) Misty Miller would be my favourite and Young London to do well would be nice also. I doubt any of the others would do too well...

I'm hoping that Ask Embla can at least qualify for the final. would also love to see Bright Light x2 but I don't think that will happen :lol:

 

The Rejects should be very interesting aswell, over these past months I definitley think that there have been some excellent songs to go on to DNQ (Velvet Elvis, I Am The Best, Liar Liar, Got Me Burnin', Daydreams (;)) to name the ones that spring to mind)
