Blur bassist Alex James has confirmed that the band will perform at the BRIT Awards ceremony in February 2012 as they are set to pick up the Outstanding Contribution to Music honour.

 

James revealed in an interview with radio station Xfm that the band will be the final performers of the night and said: “[Performing] is brilliant. It's like putting the Blues Brothers back together."

 

Regarding future touring for the reunited four-piece he said: "Well, let's hope - heritage year next year. [Would] be good wouldn't it?"

 

The BRIT Awards ceremony will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 21, 2012.
