Nerina Pallot to guest at five Will Young forest concerts

 

Will Young has announced Nerina Pallot as special guest at five of his seven dates this summer as part of Forestry Commission Live Music.

 

The past decade has seen talented singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot release four albums, receive Brit and Ivor Novello Awards nominations and song-writing credits for artistes including Diana Vickers and Kylie Minogue. Last month saw the release of the single ‘All Bets Are Off’ from her acclaimed latest album ‘The Year Of The Wolf’.

 

In the ten years since winning Pop Idol, Will Young has sold over 9 million records and crafted some of the deftest British music of his era. A succession of hits including ‘Jealousy’, ‘Leave Right Now’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down / You and I’, ‘Light My Fire’, ‘All Time Love’, ‘Who Am I’ and ‘Changes’ from multi-platinum albums like ‘From Now On’, ‘Friday’s Child’ and ‘Keep On’ has ensured a chart presence across the whole decade.

 

Last year the release of Will Young’s fifth studio album, ‘Echoes’ saw his musical career develop further. The album, produced by Richard X, entered the charts at No 1 and has sold over 300,000 copies in the UK so far.

 

Forestry Commission Live Music is an independent programme bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.

Fri 29 June - Dalby Forest, Nr Pickering, N Yorks

Sat 30 June - Cannock Chase Forest,  Nr Rugeley, Staffs

Fri 06 July - Delamere Forest, Delamere, Cheshire

* Nerina Pallot will not be appearing at Westonbirt Arboretum or Bedgebury Pinetum

Just tuned into radio Oxford and heard them mentioning it, they played clips from Elvis Costello's Olivers Army, Will's Jealousy and James Morrison's Wonderful World, and said they'd be covering it live over the weekend of the festival! :cheer:

I got a bit excited about this - quite do-able for us and we were at the very first Cornbury - but not paying £65. each - too much.

Surprised to see Plan B have only sold out of 2 ( and one of them only sold out last week)
