01 - It's Swedish and I stumbled across them on 7digital a few weeks back. It's my most likely option for BJSC 41, although I am toying with The Storm and Iiris (#56) also...

10 - I think I found it "just ok" the first time round, but it's really grown on me now! I think you are the only one who backed it originally too as, iirc, you gave it it's sole point in TBO :drama: . It was my 6th choice in TBO for that contest.

25 - I'm liking it a lot more this week, and it should hopefully climb further!

37 - I think so! It's from an advert I think, not sure which one, but I know that it's an Ellie Goulding/Slow Moving Millie style cover of a Pixies song!

38 - I've seen it on your chart and I think Eyes' too? Either way, this is a really nice track even if it doesn't appeal to the majority on this board!

Oh dear, that really is a sad state of affairs :lol: I think I gave it 8 points in the original contest, I remember being really shocked that it did so badly anyway :drama: I don't understand how Kopecka's great entries - this and Everything's Fine did so badly for example did so badly this year whilst they did well with some really average songs (Sober excepted of course!)

37. Interesting, I've downloaded it and will give it a listen later!

38. Yes, about three of us like it, such a shame that everybody else seems to passionately hate it :( I don't see what's so offensive about it but then I can appreciate that that style of music isn't to everybody's taste.

07 - Indeed! It's benefitting from the EOY chart at the moment, but it should stick around for a while yet!

10 - It kind of passed me by in BJSC, it was my 6th choice for that contest in TBO nominations, and it's grown on me again since then! I agree, WOW should have been on the Sound Of list.

20 - I think New Age's single release has been pushed back, so there is time for it to build momentum. Gotye's date is coming up soon which is worrying for it's chances.

54 - No Probs! It should be a lot higher up than it looks, but I'm loving so many songs right now!

You might have a point but although electro pop has been done to death in BJSC, that and Scandipop are almost always reliably popular and have been since 2008! Interesting contrast to the UK charts where it's club bangers and piano ballads that have been 'in' recently.

True, I guess with a smaller group of people who aren't as fickle about music as the media and the majority of the UK music buying public are, the same genres will always remain popular, but maybe songs from those genres have to be incredibly instant to do well - the electropop songs that did fail took a very long time to grow on me anyway!

I agree, if you're sending an instant song from either of those genres, preferably by a female, then you've got a top ten finish pretty much sewn up! These sorts of songs aren't always easy to come by though, plus I like some variety in my entries rather than just sending what's most likely to do well :lol:
