Oh, my Nelly!

I don't think it's THAT good though. I think there will be a lot of "2006 and late" talks, as the sound is quite similar to her Timbaland work.

And also: it might flop quite hard or be a minor top-10 hit. I'll wait until the whole package (HQ + video) is revealed.

Oh God it's awesome.

However, please can we stop pissing around now and just have an HQ version already. The wait for this song is already too prolonged.

THE BIGGER THE BETTER. THE BIGGER THE BETTER. THE BIGGER THE BETTER. THE BETTER THE BIGGER.
On first listen I was a bit unsure. I thought it sounded a bit messy on the verses but I couldn't get the hook out of my head. After the second listen, I love it :D The HQ needs to be released now please.

In full and better quality:

This really is the JAM I've been waiting for.

My Nelly top 10:

1.Try

2.Say It Right

3.Explode

4.Forca

5.Maneater

6.Turn Off The Light

7.All Good Things (Come To An End)

8.Promiscuous

9.I'm Like A Bird

10.Fresh Off The Boat

That top 5 is nothing BUT 11/10 moments. Not sure about 'Big Hoops' yet... I'm sure I will be obsessed by then second play.

'I thought this song was over. No, it ain't over yet.'
This is much better than I was expecting. Obviously her pulling off a huge comeback would be AMAZING but I'm not gonna get my hopes up still. I could see this doing decently but we'll see.

Bare in mind she was semi-big with 'Whoa! Nelly', fell off the radar with 'Folklore' and became an internationally pop star with 'Loose'. On the basis of 'Big Hoops' I can see her being massive once more. She's just got IT. Could it be a big number 1?

I'm a bit ON THE FENCE to be honest you guyz. I mean I think the beat is FIRE as they do say in certain circles. I like the ATMOSPHERE, she brings that Nelly charm to the vocals... I just wish there was a bigger hook/chorus. It stops it being great. It also has shades of Not Myself Tonight for reasons I can't really explain. It feels very short once you take away the intro and outro. 8/10 anyway and if it just serves as a reintroduction to Nelly the world conquering popstar then I'm so ON BOARD.

This WISHES it had shades of that WORLD-DESTROYING ART! (Disclaimer: this is nonetheless fabulox)

I know I sound like a proper little gay fan boy (but its NELLY) but the stuff I've read online about this is strange. People are saying her voice has changed? That she is trying to put on an accent like Rihanna? Eh eh eh? Listen to most of Whoa Nelly and her voice has always been like this. A little bit gimmicky for want of a better word.

As for it doing well I'm not sure. Nelly isn't really the type of artist that has a loon/solid fanbase in my opinion. Not like the likes of GaGa, Britney etc. She goes away and people aren't really arsed for more. I think this will have a She-Wolf esque success.

Also Not Myself Tonight > Big Hoops.

YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF, SIR.

The press release is fabulous:

Nelly Furtado has confirmed details of her new album.

The singer will release The Spirit Indestructible on June 18 and a day later in the US, preceded by lead single 'Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)' on June 4.

Furtado, who co-wrote every track on the LP, has worked with Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Lady GaGa), Bob Rock (Metallica), Dutch DJ Tiesto and John Shanks (Take That, Michelle Branch).

She said: "I began writing these songs around the time I released my Spanish album Mi Plan. I was in a great headspace, feeling refreshed and ready to really deliver in English again.

"This album is all about positivity, youth, good energy, and the relentlessness of the spirit. I want people to live this music the way we did when we wrote it.
I want them to jump, dance, scream, laugh, cry, love and vibe to it, and to turn it up very loud everywhere."

A deluxe edition will also be available, featuring several songs produced by Fraser T. Smith (Adele) and Furtado herself.

The Spirit Indestructible is Furtado's first English-language studio album since 2006's 'Loose', which topped the US charts and was certified multi-platinum in 32 countries after selling 10 million copies worldwide.

"I was in a great headspace, feeling refreshed and ready to really deliver in English again." *.*
