Elvis bought a new Harley Davidson. Accompanied by Nick Adams on the old motorcycle, Elvis took Natalie Wood for a ride.

Fred Woodward, a local police inspector and personal friend of Elvis had a fatal heart attack. When Elvis heard the news he rushed into the hospital and tried to comfort the widow. "He was a great guy, a good friend" he said, obviously distraught.

Elvis gave a party at his hotel before going out on maneuvers. He sang and played guitar for Margit Buergin and other friends while a crowd collected in the street below. Around this time he received a call from Dee Stanley, the wife of an American sergeant stationed in Frankfurt, inviting him to dinner with her family. Elvis did not go, but Vernon accepted the invitation later, while Elvis was on maneuvers.

Elvis performed at the Metropolitan Sports Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Imperials were no longer on this tour with Elvis. Maybe because of their schedules, maybe because of the Colonel, who was unwilling to pay more, but the Imperials soon learnt they were permanently replaced by the Stamps and J.D.Sumner. Also the opening act by a comic was now given to Jackie Kahane. This was the first time that Elvis would close the show with his arms flung wide and his cape spread out, just like he liked to do at the ends of songs like How Great Thou Art, The Impossible Dream and Bridge.

The Presleys moved to Memphis.

Elvis performed at the Louisiana Hayride, Municipal Auditorium, Shreveport.

Scotty, Bill and Elvis are forced to cover other artists, since they only had 2 singles out of their own. So this night Fool Fool Fool, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Cry and Sittin' On The Top Of The World were sung in this show. In the same show Slim Whitman, Jim Reeves, Jim Ed and Maxine Brown performed their thing.

Since Elvis was still underage Vernon And Gladys had to sign for another contract running for one year. Elvis would get $18 per show and Scotty and Bill $12 each.

Elvis performed twice at the Biloxi Community House, Biloxi, Mississippi. Once at 2.00 and once at 8.00 p.m. to benefit the Daily Herald Doll & Toy Fund.

During the 2nd show Elvis reminded his audience that he had "outsold" the Beatles, the Stones and Tom Jones: "all of them together". This show Elvis worn the Fringe Suit.

The Presleys received an eviction notice from the Memphis Housing Authority, ordering them to vacate because their income is too high for housing assistance.

Elvis performed at the Eagle's Nest, Memphis. An influential DJ showed up at the club and was so impressed by Elvis that he booked him for a show the next week.

Elvis performed at the Arkansas Municipal Auditorium, Texarkana, Arkansas at 7.00 and 9.15 p.m. Johnny Cash was present too and even very surprised to witness Elvis washing his car by hand to remove all the mud and rain after the long drive.

Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Denver, Colorado. While Elvis was in Denver he talked for quite some time with the off-duty policemen, who were assigned to protect him. He showed them his collection of police badges and he was disappointed when they could only come up with an honorary badge in exchange. He even made plans to come back to Denver to collect a real badge soon. He also invited the Denver policemen to come to see him the next time he would play Las Vegas.
