Finally got around to listening to the album and I can honestly say Garbage are back... mostly. Aside from the first couple of tracks which are a bit spoilt by some dodgy vocal effects and annoying synths the album is pretty great. It gets better as it goes along and for peaks at Battle In Me which is exactly the kind of track that made me love them back in 1995/6. Played it twice back to back and can envisage this being my 2nd favourite album behind the debut. Now if I could just get my arse in gear to actually go see them live...

Oh and bonus track What Girls Are Made Of is a total rip off of Two Wounded Birds single Night Patrol (but not as good)

I listened to it last night and it's very solid, I hoped they wouldn't disappoint me and it's a damn good effort. 'Control' stood out as the clear highlight for me, but that may change.

As others have said there's nary a disappointing track on this, it's a jolly listen start to end, and fittingly the best tracks are the opener (Automatic Systematic Habit) and closer (Beloved Freak - GORGEOUS). I'd say it's a bit lighter on standouts than Bleed Like Me but then I'm well aware I'm in a minority of people who loved that record.

Indeed! You can listen to it from start to finish without any problem. Their best after Garbage & Version 2.0? Definitely!

That has always been the attraction of those first two albums - unskippable.

The mastering on this really does bring it down.

No. Garbage wanted NYKOP to sound a bit rough. Don't forget that Vig produced the successful "made in garage" album "Wasting Light" by Foo Fighters before NYKOP.

Anyway, "Not Your Kind of People" is a brilliant album. It's my favorite record released in 2012 so far.

Each to their own but I'd say Automatic Systematic Habit & Big Bright World are two of my faves... but it's a rock solid album and most of the songs are ace anyway!

Sugar is also my favourite I think. although there is not single a song I dislike on this album (I don't care much for the bonus tracks though)

And something completely unrelated to this album but it's just way too awesome not to share:

I simply LOVE this this. The guy remixing this did a great job and gave totally new vibes to most of the songs.

I've listened to it a few times while making my dinner. It sounds ok. I will listen closer soon.

I've seen Garbage live recently for the first time after a 7 years of waiting. It was an incredible show! :cheer:

Any news on single #02?

I've heard that it will be Control (over 50% chances) or Big Bright World.

Any news on single #02?

Big Bright World for Australia and UK (my least favourite song from the non-bonus tracks)

Control for USA (my favourite together with Sugar)
