Posted January 10, 201213 yr Azerbaijan will be this year's hosts as you all know, and have a great track record of songs so far - Safura, AySel and Arash and of course Ell & Nikki. (I can't remember the names of those who sung Day After Day :P) So far the following have qualified from their heats: Orkhan Karimli Maryam Karimova Khayyam Mustafazadeh Fagan Safarov Elton Ibrahimov Adil Bakhishli And 1 more heat remains which is taking place this week. So far Maryam is the only female I think, so that could give her and advantage in the final. I'm certainly interested in what they will come up with, as Running Scared totally exceeded my expectations last year after who was chosen as I couldn't see how Ell & Nikki would really work - but it did! Can Azerbaijan keep their record of top 10 finishes? Edited March 17, 201213 yr by Ryan741
January 10, 201213 yr I'm sure they'll do well again, they always do. They also always send something good so I have high hopes, another DRIP DROP is probably asking too much, but I'll settle for another Running Scared.
March 3, 201213 yr The song is called 'Our Love Song' and there is a clip here; http://en.itv.az/eurovision_song_contest_2...ayeva/3949.html Certainly don't expect them to be winning for the second year in a row.
March 3, 201213 yr It's nice, and respectable enough for a host entry, but I can't see it doing much in the televotes. Might go top ten with the juries.
March 3, 201213 yr Author Has this been confirmed by Ictimai or Sabina because I read somewhere this has been on the Internet for a couple of months already?
March 3, 201213 yr Has this been confirmed by Ictimai or Sabina because I read somewhere this has been on the Internet for a couple of months already? Well given the link I posted is the Ictimai website. Until it was taken down. Edited March 3, 201213 yr by Jackel
March 3, 201213 yr Author Well given the link I posted is the Ictimai website. Until it was taken down. Right! I didn't realise because the page said that the page couldn't be found. :)
March 17, 201213 yr Dull :( Agreed. So many ballads already and a lot of them are more interesting to listen to. I'm really hoping now Belgium has something uptempo. Since the UK will be ANOTHER ballad most likely. :( It's a shame, I was expected more when I saw the song title. Edited March 17, 201213 yr by Sabrewulf
March 17, 201213 yr I am loving ethnic background music. On the whole, it's rather gorgeous. People who wrote this one are also the authors of Running... I'm Scared ( :kink: ) and Drip Drop. Yeah they finish Top 5 all the time, why change?!!
March 17, 201213 yr  Sounds good. I'm really NOT minding ballad overload this year. I don't think Azerbaijan will end up being my favourite yet again, but they'll probably get in the top 10.
March 17, 201213 yr AzeriBlues! Great performance - a clean classic blues - and really well done. If she can deliver on stage, this is a clear top 5!
March 17, 201213 yr LOVE IT It's pretty much everything I want in a ballad though, aside from maybe a melodramatic key change and a few big ridiculous money notes and ad libs. So yeah not really everything AT ALL, but still very good.
March 17, 201213 yr I'm siding with those who think it's dull. After one listen, it's not something I feel an urge to listen to again really.
