In 1989, created in France group Kaoma, whose musicians come from different parts of the world, tops the European Hot 100 Singles chart for 15 weeks with "Lambada". The lead vocals in the song belong to a Brazilian singer Loalwa Braz. Telo may therefore be the second singer from Brazil atop of the Europe's chart. It would be quite remarkable if Michel Teló does achieve this. It's become such a big hit pretty much out of nowhere. Well, mostly thanks to footballers dancing to the song. It is a really catchy song and as far I could see in the UK (if the song did become a hit here) it'd be considered a genuine "guilty pleasure" - the type of song you would never admit to your mates that you like. :lol:
