So the Eurovision season has now started and it's time for SUPER EUROVISION, a contest that will decide the best Eurovision song (that reached the Final) of the last 10 years (2002-2011)!

 

Each week people will vote for their favourite songs with 3 songs from each year making their way to the SUPER EUROVISION FINAL! I know it's a bit cruel because some years are weaker than the others, but it's the only way to guarantee that the Final won't be flooded with 2009-2011 songs only. There're no auto-qualifiers too (I was hoping Dima Bilan wouldn't make it :D )!

Probably one of the worst Eurovision ever, glad Norway sat this one out :lol:

I'm sure Norway wouldn't have sat it out if they hadn't been relegated! Which brings an interesting thought to my mind, what would have happened to Melodifestivalen if Sweden had ever been relegated? :o What would the winner have 'won'? Or would it have just not been held one year?

 

But nevertheless it's definitely the worst contest I can think of. I only actually LIKE seven songs from this contest, so my 3, 2 and 1 pointers were the most tolerable from the rest of the pack.

The recap was added. So, unless you REALLY don't have 6-7 minutes to spare (i.e. you are literally DYING, DEAD or DEAF), you are REQUIRED to vote.

Very nice to see the recap added Pavel! 7 songs are all that I enjoyed in 2002 but I wonder if other people might be partial to more?

I loved the 2002 contest, I think I'm one of only a few who actually quite liked the winner, even if a number of other entries deserved it more!

I maintain that if Marie N had not been there I'd have been very happy with the outcome of the contest, 2-4 would have made for a fantastic top three! It irks me a bit because Latvia only got through to that contest by default because somebody else pulled out (Portugal?), how different things could have been :lol:

I don't get the hate for 2002 either. It's quite lovely overall. No major stand-outs though.

I did watch this contest I think, but I wasn't very old so I can't remember it! I'm watching the whole show now :D

Sent my votes - a poor quality contest by today's standards, but with 3 songs miles ahead of the rest :D

Apparently there has been some kind of controversy with this year. :lol: That they briefly cut off the sound during the second verse of the Russian song. All of the jury cried FIX :lol: The worst thing though was that they didn't like Malta winning during the results announcement, until the last couple of votes after which Latvia took the crown. :mellow: Maybe it was just Slovenian transvestites that triggered such reaction?! :kink:
