Yeah, I went onto iTunes earlier and bought 'Born To Die'. I wasn't too fussed with buying the remixes so just settled for the single version. Shame it's not 79p like 'Twilight'. I can only imagine 'Twilight' is doing so much better because of the price reduction. Then again, it'd probably be doing well even if it was 99p like other new releases.

I was a bit gutted when I went onto iTunes, saw 'Twilight' at #7 at that time with 'Born To Die' down at #37. I bought the track which was always my intention this week. I didn't check if there is an EP on iTunes (I'll have a look shortly) because if there is, the extra sales there should help Lana Del Rey get a top 10 entry in next Sundays chart. I'm sure the album will do really well next week. It might even sell enough copies to debut at #1 in the YTD Albums Chart. :D

Well, when the record company choose to release such great pop music like this then the success is well deserved. To think I got bored of 'Mr. Know It All' so quickly whilst I can see me enjoying this track for a long period of time. This is actually the highest Kelly Clarkson has ever entered in my chart. 'Since U Been Gone' did peak at #2 but charted at #4 two weeks earlier.

 

04 (--) Pink - Bridge Of Light (04) [1 wk] Interesting debut, is this a single anywhere?

 

It was released in central Europe towards the end of 2011. Made the top 10 in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and also went to #1 in Slovenia. 'Bridge Of Light' entered the HIT30 the following week based on this tracks performance in those 4 countries. It's a really beautiful ballad imo. I've embedded the track below for you hear - unless you've already heard it. :D

To be honest, this song has grown out of favour with me over the last 7 days. This time last week it was my Pre-Release #1 over both Kelly Clarkson and Pink. By the time I compiled this chart, I felt Kelly Clarkson and Pink were more deserving of a higher chart peak. I still like 'Antidote' but compared to a week ago, I've been enjoying 'Stronger' and 'Bridge Of Light' more.

Well, 'Titanium' and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' are both equally excellent. Even though the former never made #1 in my chart, it's certainly become one of my most successful #3 hits - possibly the biggest if I was to check. :o

:lol: It would certainly seem so. It's one of those tracks that I continue to like more each week. This morning I saw the video on Starz and didn't realise there was a rado edit where the lyrics have been changed for daytime play. I find the idea of Snoop Dogg in the video playing the character of a 19 year old bizzarely funny when he must be closer to 40 years of age now. :D (hey, age is only a number)

I was a bit gutted when I went onto iTunes, saw 'Twilight' at #7 at that time with 'Born To Die' down at #37. I bought the track which was always my intention this week. I didn't check if there is an EP on iTunes (I'll have a look shortly) because if there is, the extra sales there should help Lana Del Rey get a top 10 entry in next Sundays chart. I'm sure the album will do really well next week. It might even sell enough copies to debut at #1 in the YTD Albums Chart. :D

 

02 (--) Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) (02) [1 wk] Nice to see her back in favour with the UK! The album's really good too!

 

Well, when the record company to choose to release such great pop music like this then the success is well deserved. To think I got bored of 'Mr. Know It All' so quickly whilst I can see me enjoying this track for a long period of time. This is actually the highest Kelly Clarkson has ever entered in my chart. 'Since U Been Gone' did peak at #2 but charted at #4 two weeks earlier.

 

04 (--) Pink - Bridge Of Light (04) [1 wk] Interesting debut, is this a single anywhere?

 

It was released in central Europe towards the end of 2011. Made the top 10 in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and also went to #1 in Slovenia. 'Bridge Of Light' entered the HIT30 the following week based on this tracks performance in those 4 countries. It's a really beautiful ballad imo. I've embedded the track below for you hear - unless you've already heard it. :D

 

 

07 (--) Swedish House Mafia Vs Knife Party - Antidote (07) [1 wk] A decent song, surprised it didn't go to #1 in the UK :o Miami 2 Ibiza remains their best for me though

 

To be honest, this song has grown out of favour with me over the last 7 days. This time last week it was my Pre-Release #1 over both Kelly Clarkson and Pink. By the time I compiled this chart, I felt Kelly Clarkson and Pink were more deserving of a higher chart peak. I still like 'Antidote' but compared to a week ago, I've been enjoying 'Stronger' and 'Bridge Of Light' more.

Well, 'Titanium' and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' are both equally excellent. Even though the former never made #1 in my chart, it's certainly become one of my most successful #3 hits - possibly the biggest if I was to check. :o

 

36 (37) Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa feat. Bruno Mars - Young, Wild And Free (40-37-36) [3 wks] #1 by Xmas? :o

 

:lol: It would certainly seen so. It's one of those tracks that I continue to like more each week. This morning I saw the video on Starz and didn't release there was a rado edit where the lyrics have been changed for daytime play. I find the idea of Snoop Dogg in the video playing the character of a 19 year old bizzarely funny when he must be closer to 40 years of age now. :D (hey, age is only a number)

 

1. There is an EP, it's only what sounded like weak remixes though so don't expect it to sell very well. The Video Games EP sold so well imo because it had Blue Jeans on it!

2. This is classic Kelly, probably the most outright pop/rock song that she's done since Behind These Hazel Eyes :o

4. I have heard it before but thanks anyway, it's not a bad song but I've never been the biggest fan of Pink anyway, although she's managed a few big hits in my chart over the years.

7. I thought it was, hence why I was surprised at the muted debut here, it would have been undeserving had it been their first UK #1 when they've had better in the past.

1. Yeah, I did check again on iTunes. That's where I bought the track from but it isn't so obvious when you're looking at the overall iTunes top 200. It was only clicking on the song title that I saw the other tracks on the EP. I had a listen to the previews but I was never going to buy them.

 

2. It sure is. I'd be really happy if Kelly Clarkson gets herself a well deserved big hit (possibly outsell 'Mr. Know It All' even if it peaks lower). The whole 'Breakway' album was brilliant and considering there's been 3 albums since, it's taken until now for the record company to release a track that puts Kelly right back at the top of her game.

 

4. I've actually liked a lot of Pink's singles, even some of her lesser hits were tracks I liked. I'd say 'Try This' was her weakest album though. Singles like 'Trouble' and 'God Is A DJ' really didn't make a big impact on me whatsoever. 'Bridge Of Light' is still a lovely song, I wonder if there are plans to give this a UK release.

 

7. Intrestlingly, no. 7 seems to be the glass ceiling for Swedish House Mafia. 'One (Your Name)' and 'Miami 2 Ibiza' were tracks I liked at first but nothing more, but they continued growing on me and both ended up peaking at #7. On the flip side, 'Antidote' enters at #7 but I don't see this even being a non mover next week - I'm already certain this will start dropping. Maybe it's a good I don't just chart songs as soon as I hear them. It would've possibly ended up being a poor performing chart topper had it got there 2 weeks ago. :o
