So, unless you're the busiest person in the whole wide world, you aren't going to use the video below, which is the RECAP of all the songs.

As always, you vote using the traditional Eurovision system, i.e. 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points, and send the scores to my by PM! 6 songs will qualify for the Semifinals.

You have until evening of SUNDAY, January 29th to vote. And yeah, vote for you favourite song, and not the country you live in, etc.

RECAP PLEASE

The first contest I went into proper loon mode for! Happy memories. I remember spending the next day DESPONDENT at all the 'political voting' that had gotten Jemini nul points.

Quite high quality overall! Off the top of my head (though I'll relisten) I'd like to see (in perf order) Iceland, Turkey, Germany, Russia, Greece, and Belgium make it. I imagine four of those will make it along with Spain and Sweden - or maybe the UK!

Gosh, Iceland got absolutely SLAUGHTERED by the running order, didn't they? :(

Damnit, forgot the recap once again.

They did, and it didn't help that they appeared last in the recap video!

I used to think that 2003 was a weak contest but looking back it was actually really strong overall, I just wasn't particularly interested in and therefore pleased with any of the top three. I appreciate why they all did well (although Sanomi was a bit of a surprise!) but I wouldn't listen to any of them out of choice really.

I was doing my GCSE's at the time of this contest, I remember going off in a break between revision periods to buy the CD, and I had Nicola's Don't Break My Heart stuck in my head practically all the way through one of my exams :drama:

HA! at the commentator snidely name-checking Fly On The Wings of Love after We've Got The World!

(YES I AM REWATCHING THE WHOLE THING AND WHAT. If anything I demand others do the same, this is a VINTAGE YEAR (and I don't want to be alone in my in-depth Eurolooning))

Out of interest, how's this going to work when semis come into play?

15 songs from each Semifinal will qualify for the big Final!

I can't believe he got away with it! Blatant copy.

I've done my first run through and could easily vote for 15 songs here, compared to 7 in 2002 where my remaining 3 were fillers!

No, I mean - how's it going to work when the years start having semis? Just voting for the top six out of all of them, or will we do the semis THEN the final?

I could vote for at least 16 here. 2002 was a matter of five really easy choices and then struggling to find five others I liked enough.

God, Malta didn't stand a CHANCE after Turkey! I'd completely forgotten how this had gone. Not that that's surprising, this is so MoR even Shoat would probably turn his nose up at it...

There is no justice when Latvia send a far better song than the previous year and finish bottom three instead of top three :( It was very strange to see the top three from 2002 end up as the bottom three here actually. I don't really remember what my pre-contest thoughts on Cry Baby were, I thought it was fairly decent and would finish mid-table I guess but it definitely deserved nul points, and it's always worth rewatching that car-crash performance! The UK really took to it after that, it went top 15 in the chart anyway, had it finished mid-table I doubt it would have gone near the UK top 30.

:(

I loved Cry Baby, I even bought CD 1 and 2 of it :kink: . The shame!

Poor Rita Guerra :( What a GLORIOUS slice of MoR balladry. Alas whacked on at an inopportune moment in the running order, in a language nobody understood, by a less good looking Shakira lookalike wrapped in snakeskin. Probably my favourite Portuguese entry ever...

Enough of that though. CROATIAN BRITNEY AHOY

I'd forgotten just how terrible the Israeli entry was. How it didn't get 0 points is beyond me!

And Ukraine, they were great from that point onwards but his voice was DIRE, as was the song, I thought they'd be a future nation for us all to laugh at based on their first entry! How wrong I was...

I'm down to a shortlist of 13 and it's going to be a bloodbath now, who do I chop? :drama:

Keine Grenzen - Zadnych Granic was such an unlikely anthem  All of my top ten, and the song that I would have placed 11th take me right back to Year 11 and being 16 again  Memories!
