I'd forgotten just how terrible the Israeli entry was. How it didn't get 0 points is beyond me!

It's not great but it certainly isn't nul points material!

And Ukraine, they were great from that point onwards but his voice was DIRE, as was the song, I thought they'd be a future nation for us all to laugh at based on their first entry! How wrong I was...

I'm down to a shortlist of 13 and it's going to be a bloodbath now, who do I chop? :drama:

The rhyming dictionary work on Ukraine is truly something. Chop Malta

Keine Grenzen - Zadnych Granic was such an unlikely anthem  All of my top ten, and the song that I would have placed 11th take me right back to Year 11 and being 16 again  Memories!

I loved it at the time but I think it's utterly horrid now!

They were just getting going I guess, we can't expect all countries to swan in on top like Serbia! But yes, tragic entry in every way.

As if I'd chop underrated Lynn, she'll be needing all the help she can get! She was actually 10/1 to win pre-contest, I guess as a 'halo effect' from Ira with Malta doing so well the previous year with summery pop. It's not a personal chart #1 that I regret though by any stretch!

It's not the sort of thing I'd usually love, his voice for a start is grating to say the least, but the staging and outfits were so ridiculous that I was fully charmed by it. I always found it very anthemic too. Follow My Heart in 2006 was better though, and a much undeserved DNQ.

That was a very ill-informed entry from Ukraine, thank goodness Ruslana came along the following year to rectify it!

Estonia's was a pretty dreadful entry for me too.

Oh I couldn't BEAR sodding Ruffus. 80s Coming Back was one of the more CELEBRATED poor results of the night for me.
Surprised there's no mention of Alf Poier yet, I was horrified but obviously not at all surprised when we gave it 10 points :/ I was convinced that it would come last but that was before I saw the presentation of the song. The last 10 seconds of the song are such a strange contrast, maybe one of the strangest endings to a song I've ever heard - going from a twee novelty song into full on rock mode for a few seconds before finishing with a Fisher Price cassette sound effect to round off proceedings.
I can't STAND Alf Poier either! He's a proper stain on a flawless top 13 (Poland aside as well for me now)
I'd forgotten how cracking Mando's tits were! OBSCENE

Was this the last time Greece missed the top ten? Insane...

GOD knows how unjustifiable Mando's flop is compared with the horrors of last year!

Alf Poier is amazing. WOT R U ON?!

No, I mean - how's it going to work when the years start having semis? Just voting for the top six out of all of them, or will we do the semis THEN the final?

I actually was going to just use FINALS, but the idea of it all being not that fair can't seem to let go of me. I guess voting for 10 songs of the 43 entries (when we get to 2008) wouldn't be too tough? If it would, I'm up for suggestions!

I wouldn't want to just use finals. I need to vote for What For? in some manner.
Nearly all my favourites fail to reach the final so I'd much prefer to vote for 10 songs out of 40+ entries.

I never really noticed how epic 'Monts et Merveilles' is before!

Already 6 votes, including mine!

It seems 2003 is not as predictable as 2002 was.

Not for me, but I still have a soft spot for Ruffus, it was one of my faves of the year, love the lyrics

Jerick, Jonjo, Tom and Ryan741. I'm still waiting for your votes. You signed the contract of voting in all years when you cast your votes last week. Same for N-S, who only voted in this round so far.

There's currently a tie between 6th and 7th places. We don't want another Slovenia JUST not making it, do we?

2003 was a great year! Great hosts, stage, all in all great songs (give or take a couple of horrors - Estonia  and we weren't exactly amazing either

Will vote immediately!
