QUALIFIER #2

UKRAINE

The winner of Eurovision 2004, so it was rather obvious as well, wasn't it?

Right - for the first part, and wrong - for the second :D

This is closed now, as Jonjo and Jerick are both offline anyway.

19 voters once again.

Oh well, now it's closed I'll reveal that the song I saved from nul was Tie Break's Du Bist! Nothing quite like a boyband ballad :D

QUALIFIER #4

CYPRUS

One of the best Cypriot entries. Joint 5th place with Lena (although by current rules Lisa'd have 5th and Lena - 6th) in ESC 2004.

QUALIFIER #6

BELGIUM

22nd (!) place in ESC 2004. Looks like BJ found something in this song Europe couldn't, just like in Danish 2002 entry.

Wasn't even close! 3 nul pointers and Rich's 3-pointer received one more point. I guess somebody else thought the exact same thing and decided to save poor Platin. :D

Oh dear

This was one song that I never 'got' despite it having all of the ingredients of something I should have loved by being a Belgian dance song (Belgian dance was probably THE most popular genre in my chart in 2002, just two years earlier). Just a bit too formulaic and I wasn't keen on her voice.

Gutted for Malta, pleased about all of the other qualifiers apart from Lane Moje which I also never cared for.

Platin and Tie Break deserved more :P Yay at the dreadful songs from Switzerland and Latvia getting nul!

INTERESTING!

You are the one to talk! Having voted for 4 songs that didn't even reach double digits. :kink:

Difference being that I knew that they had no chance, the oh dear is that there was enough support for that justified flop to see it through to the final!

LOL at Sweden qualifying, but as Pavel said this is BJ after all :P

That and the fact that It Hurts was easily one of the top three songs of Eurovision 2004. Certainly a more deserved qualification than Afro-Dite and Fame.

One person voted for the whole Top 9. Looking FREEKY on the scoreboard.

TURKEY came 7th?!

Why so surprised? :o Nearly half voted for it!

  • Author
It's incredibly catchy. Plus 2004 being weak...
So is SEAN FUCKING BANAN but I wouldn't see THAT troubling a 7th place in this!
  • Author
To be honest, it was mostly voted not by Melodifestivalen cheese eaters like yourself. Although a certain JOHNKM gave it a few points as well. Ask him. He will probably tell you why he found 'So Real' worthy of points in terms you will understand. :D
