Hey Ghosty, my comments :D

01 (03) Ditte Marie ~ Overflow ~ 2 [3-1] Not exactly a surprising new #1 :P It wore off me quicker than I expected though!

16 (54) Walk Off The Earth ~ Somebody That I Used To Know ~ 2 [54-16] This is very clever, but I wouldn't listen to it without watching the video.

19 (**) The Young Professionals ~ Video Games ~ 1 [19] Unexpected cover alert :o Very different but it works!

37 (**) Freja Loeb ~ Never Stop Coming Back ~ 1 [37] Very pleasing to see this here, a former #2 in my chart :D Maybe Ladyhawke should have used this as her comeback single!

60 (**) Annamari Dancs ~ Feel ~ 1 [60] I came close to charting this, it's very Inna...

Thanks Rich!

01 - I'm loving it at the moment, I hope it doesn't get boring for me! It would have been a fabulous Danish entry, but it was never going to happen :(

09 - I still really like it, but my chart is very volatile at this time of the year!

16 - The video definitely adds to it, but I much prefer listening to this version than the original also. It's got more of a folk feel to it which I much prefer.

19 - Completely agree! It took me a couple of listens to get use to it, but I really like it now!

37 - Is it a Ladyhawke cast off? :o . I had heard it a few weeks ago, but it didn't click for some reason. Thanks to Unknown Pleasures I do rather like it now!

60 - Agreed, it's a shame it failed to make the final. There's a lot of these sort of entries popping up in the Eastern European selections, unsurprisingly!

1. Indeed it would but electro-pop

9. I can appreciate that, I seem to have 20-30 entries a week on average in January-March

16. Each to their own, the original is quickly becoming an all time favourite of mine - although it did take AGES to properly click!

19. I like the sound effects, it seems like they've literally turned it into video game music!

37. No not at all, I just thought that it sounded a bit like something she could do when I first heard it, especially when that saxophone comes in. It's definitely a slow grower, it took a few weeks to get right up there in my chart.

60. Romania should technically be entering songs like this to Eurovision every year! But they never do :(

Where's Anggun? :o

01 - ...never does well? :kink: . It's a shame both Denmark and Europe seem to be adverse to pop music being in the contest. The only songs like it that do well now are ones that have massive stage shows like Popular.

09 - Same :drama:, and I've got about 30 more waiting in the wings!

19 - I can see what you mean! It is a fantastic cover though, they've totally overhauled the track and made it their own!

37 - Ahh I see! Hopefully it'll grow on me more too!

60 - Quite! I don't know what they were thinking last year, Change was pretty abysmal on reflection. Hopefully they'll enter something brilliant this year! We need another Let Me Try!

I'm waiting to find an mp3 of it! I do adore it though and once I have an mp3, it should enter very high on my chart!

1. Oh dear, yes you can read me like a book, that's what I intended to finish that sentence with but obviously forgot to  Indeed, hence why I love Sweden so much, they love their BIG pop and aren't afraid to send it to Eurovision. Denmark really need a rocket up the arse, for a country that is synonymous with cheesy happy lifestyle and music, why are their Eurovision entries always so MOR?

9. I regularly have a shortlist of up to 200 songs that I haven't had space to chart!

60. It was rather wasn't it  They've had some really good entries in the past but nothing that particularly represents what they're most famous for worldwide. Mr Saxobeat and Stereo Love were so huge that they even went top 20 in the US!

Hello Ghosty,

01 (03) Ditte Marie ~ Overflow ~ 2 [3-1]

02 (02) Ivi Adamou ~ La La Love ~ 3 [2-2-2]

03 (16) Minnie-Oh ~ You And I ~ 2 [16-3] - Nice climb, gutted but expected about its failure. Still excellent pop.

06 (08) Karen Viuff ~ Universe ~ 2 [8-6]

07 (**) Lana Del Rey ~ Born To Die ~ 1 [7]

08 (04) War Of Words ~ Panic ~ 7 [37-10-10-13-24-4-8] - Having heard both, I think I now prefer Battleground, it's far more instant. I think Panic might be a bit too subtle.

09 (06) Marigold ~ You And I Know ~ 10 [30-4-6-6-1-1-1-3-6-9]

43 (**) Jessie J ~ Domino ~ 1 [43]

50 (**) Cover Drive ~ Twilight ~ 1 [50] - Twilight! Token mainstream entry this week that I really like! Can't wait for the album, it sounds like it's going to be amazing now

52 (51) Le Kid ~ Human Behaviour ~ 3 [37-51-52]

55 (**) Florence + The Machine ~ No Light, No Light ~ 1 [55]

01 - :heehee:, it seemed the most likely ending to that half a sentence! Sweden are so excellent when it comes to selecting for Eurovision! I can't understand why their neighbours are so reluctant to follow suit! Denmark are totally baffling when it comes to Eurovision, I mean this is the country that gave us Aqua, Whigfield, Infernal and Alphabeat yet they wouldn't dare send anything like that to Eurovision!

09 - :drama:, thankfully I haven't had a week where I want to chart 200+ songs for a while now. I'm at around 100-110 a week at the moment, and that is bad enough!

60 - I hadn't realised both those songs had become so big in the US! They really should send something like that to Eurovision! I don't know how well it would do though, Moldova tried in in 2010 and didn't exactly ignite the scoreboard :heehee:

Thanks Eyes!

03 - I wasn't expecting it as such, but then I wasn't shocked either - it could have gone either way for me. It is very unfortunate it failed to make the final :(

08 - Panic definitely took it's time to grow on me, and Battlegrounds might yet do also. I do at this moment in time much prefer Panic though.

50 - Twilight is a catchy tune, but I think I'll give the album a miss - They're going to be more of a singles act for me I reckon!

58 - It reminds me of Depeche Mode personally! Depeche Mode crossed with The Sound Of Arrows!

1. They are, although on the flipside I can understand Pavel's comment - they don't send much else but Hi-NRG pop which must be frustrating for Eurovision fans that don't like that genre. I couldn't agree more, their Eurovision representatives don't match what the country in general is known for at all  Then again, the UK send dated Europop more often than not and that's hardly what we're known for in the wider music world is it

9. Eurovision season is always the hardest, it takes me at least an hour longer than usual to compile my chart, just because I have to decide what to cull...

60. Indeed, it's strange how huge they got there! And now The Wanted's Glad You Came is looking to be a big hit there, which might as well be a Romanian dance track  That's the problem I guess, I really don't see that it would do very well in Eurovision :( Maybe if they sent Inna or Alexandra Stan they'd have a chance...

01 - True, but we get quite a lot of alternative entries from other countries. Sweden needs to stick to the pop formula otherwise we may end up losing the genre from Eurovision completely! I hadn't thought about other countries entries not matching what music they're known for, but it certainly seems that way. A fair chunk of Western nations aren't exactly sending music that sounds like their international hits!

09 - Same, nearly all my long running hits have had to face the chop over the past couple of weeks just to make room for the new stuff!

60 - The Wanted are starting to break America?! Oh dear :( . I think if Romania sent Inna, they'd have a guaranteed top 3, not sure about Alexandra Stan - she's still a bit of a one hit wonder.

Thanks Tom!

04 - Maybe :kink: . Glad you're liking it though!

19 - The album was a little bit disappointing wasn't it? This cover is fantastic though! Do you think there's any truth in the rumour that they're representing Israel in Eurovision this year?

20 - It's the third Sheelah single that never was! I'm surprised no one sent it to BJSC!

27 - I should think it'll return next week :D

44 - I agree on the final point, but I'd much prefer Malin to win out of the confirmed finalists so far!

53 - There are a couple of other songs in the next semi final that I prefer, but I'd be happy if Gabi was to go to Baku!

58 - It is a bit, I wonder who sent it! :kink:

Hello Ghosty! Comments this week:

01 (03) Ditte Marie ~ Overflow ~ 2 [3-1] An obvious chart topper  Scandipop in a nutshell; to steal Loreen's songtitle, it's very euphoric!

07 (**) Lana Del Rey ~ Born To Die ~ 1 [7] Glad to see this make a strong debut - she has her niche and she works it to perfection! Album just about lives up to the hype, I think

14 (17) SoSo ~ Who's Gonna Love Me? ~ 6 [34-30-27-9-17-14] Hooray, a rise! Holding strong against the ESC tide for now :D

16 (54) Walk Off The Earth ~ Somebody That I Used To Know ~ 2 [54-16] A huge jump! I know you prefer this, but good as it is it'll never hold a candle to the original for me

17 (45) Malin ~ Crush ~ 2 [45-17] Absolutely dreadful performance, I thought, but a really strong song and I guess her Junior ESC background helped

24 (**) Kelly Clarkson ~ What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) ~ 1 [24] Seems like a late debut for such a song beloved by almost everyone! But very glad to see it make a strong debut

37 (**) Freja Loeb ~ Never Stop Coming Back ~ 1 [37] One of my favourites right now, brilliant discovery via Rich (although then she appeared on DMGP so she must be a bit famous :kink: )

40 (44) Tooji ~ Stay ~ 2 [44-40] One of my firm favourites in MGP - the vocals are absolutely incredible, particularly at the beginning of the chorus!

44 (**) Tommy Fredvang ~ Make It Better ~ 1 [44] I was delighted to see this qualify, one of my favourites last week, and I reckon it'd do quite well at ESC (if only it stood a chance of being chosen :drama: )

01 - True, but we get quite a lot of alternative entries from other countries. Sweden needs to stick to the pop formula otherwise we may end up losing the genre from Eurovision completely! 1. True, I just wish they had more success with it. Popular was a good start and will hopefully set them in good stead for the future! Indeed, the UK should be sending a lot more than the knock offs we get left with. I don't mind if it's not by a big name artist but it would help if it was a great contemporary pop song, people would vote for it regardless of who was singing it!

9. I don't mind getting rid of my long running hits, it's the fact that I can't enter a lot of songs that I like, due to there not being enough room :drama:

60. Glad You Came has just gone top 40 there! One Direction will be next I expect...agreed, Inna's recognisable as a star now I think.

Well I can't argue with that top three!! *.*

Thanks for commenting!

01 - It's definitely a typical sounding number one hit for my chart, but I adore it and I think I'd probably regret not putting it at the top for at least a week!

07 - Completely agree, it wasn't a disappointing album, but it wasn't overly spectacular either, so it was kind of what I was expecting!

14 - For now yes :D . I really hope it does well in BJSC!

16 - Fair enough, I find the original a little bit twee for my liking, plus I prefer the vocals on this version.

17 - She was hitting notes I've never heard before, and not in a good way! It's a super catchy tune though!

24 - It's one of those songs I forgot to chart! . It's her strongest single for a very long while for me!

37 - Oh that's who she was! When she popped up I thought it was Jessie J - I thought, wow her Danish is good!

40 - I watched the performance on Youtube earlier, it was very slick! I'd be very happy if Norway decided to send this actually!

44 - I agree completely, although there are four or five other entries that I prefer to this one in the final. I wouldn't mind it being entered though!

01 - Absolutely! There must be tonnes of tracks that have been shelved over the years that could be entered for us!

60 - Poor America :(

Well I can't argue with that top three!! *.*

Glad you like it! :D
