July 28, 201212 yr They can. The major problem the FA will have no is if this happens again, then Defense lawyers will just use the John Terry case to their advantage. The maximum fine he could have got was £25,000. The Suarez case would never have gone to case. 1) because there was not enough evidence for a Crown Prosecution and 2) because Evra declined to take the issue up with the police. I'm over what happened now, but there is no comparison between the two cases. If the FA decide to play God and let John Terry off then they have opened another massive can of worms. The Suarez and Evra case was one mans word against another, no evidence at all. The John Terry case is different. If Suarez was found guilty on those allegations, then John Terry should at the very least by the FA. The Suarez case wasn't even that. Suarez ADMITTED he said that he was constantly fouling Evra "because he was a black" and calling him slang racially aggrevated words. Not really a debate there. I won't get over what happened not so much because of Suarez himself but the ridiculous Liverpool circus surrounding it, especially Kenny and the Suarez T-Shirts. Horrendous. Anyway, completely agree this needs at least an 8 game ban, but it seems they're quietly sweeping it under the carpet as you point out by announcing it yesterday. Not holding out too much hope of not having to see the little rat for a long time.

Not holding out too much hope of not having to see the little rat for a long time. I'm sorry James but that's completely not the truth at all. Suarez never said that, and he was never actually racist towards Evra in the evidence that was presented. He called Evra a negredo, once. Yet Evra said it was five times, and the FA said it was seven times. The whole thing was completely ridiculous. Liverpool handled the situation very badly agreed, but Suarez was by evidence not guilty. It was his own admission that got him in to trouble. If he hadn't admitted anything it would have been very hard for the FA to do anything. As it was it was one man's word against another. There was no conclusive evidence and both parties changed their story throughout. The FA just thought Evra's case was more reliable. Simple fact was Manchester United's legal team was prepared for what could happen, whilst Liverpool were not (which is why everyone invovled in the situation bar Suarez has now left the club). Read the documents, not the lies the papers spout.
September 28, 201212 yr I'd love to know their reasoning as to why John Terry was given a 4 match ban in comparison to the 8 for Suarez. Corrupt organisation the FA are Notice The Mirror didn't go with their "Racist" headline once again either
September 28, 201212 yr It's almost as if they'd decided on the punishment before the verdict of the court case. Odd.

Corrupt organisation the FA are Notice The Mirror didn't go with their "Racist" headline once again either The Mirror made out Terry was hard done by. Yes that's right. Bloody joke. Apparently Suarez got the 8 game ban because of the amount of times he said negro. Yet nobody knows (not even Evra) how many times it was said. Just a joke really. How Terry got a £220,000 fine and Suarez a £40,000 fine is much more of an issue. Will be nice to see these statements from Capello et al.
