February 6, 201213 yr Gosh, I've just had a quick listen through and this year is almost IMPOSSIBLE to vote in. I want to vote for at least 19! Any chance of going to the 18, 15, 13 system Pavel? :D Anyway, highs and lows of oh five: - Ukraine thinking entering their revolutionary anthem would be a good idea. Bitch please! - As Pavel has highlighted, SHIRI'S TITS. Ditto Javine's errant breast in the UK NF. - A disgustingly undeserved DNQ for: The Netherlands, Slovenia, Iceland (poor brave Selma!), Finland, and GENERAL LIFE ICON Angelica Agurbash of Belarus (the Anastasia Vinnikova prototype, with a slightly more dodgy accent). I also have room in my heart for the fairly shit but nonetheless gratifying 'Love?' (replete with bizarre punctuation) from Ireland. - Martin Stenmarck getting a deserved flop. I like to imagine that on the night Nanne, Alcazar and Shirley were all CHINKING GLASSES in a Stockholm jacuzzi while watching the result. - The Balkans being generally on TOP FORM this year. It's difficult to argue with the likes of Vukovi umiru sami and Zauvijek moja - even if the latter was almost a shameless Balkan rip-off of Steps - Deeper Shade of Blue! I'm quite surprised they both didn't do better actually - Zauvijek moja would've STORMED the whole thing had Montenegro sent it a couple of years later I reckon... - France sending an uptempo for the first time in years, it actually being rather tremendous, and then flopping anyway :( - Cool Vibes. What an insanely hot track! I like to imagine it as the prototype for Serebro two years later (and as such I refer to it in my heart as Song #0) - Chiara coming second with a bit of a BASIC BITCH ballad. - Norway tearing Eurovision a new one with the sort of thing I'd normally be begging to be ditched in a Melodifestivalen heat. - Albania spotting the Fairytale trick four years too soon (+ poor vox), but unfortunately sending a track which completely and utterly failed to live up to the tremendous intro - And speaking of intros: Hungary may possibly be the GREATEST opener to a contest we've ever had - Romania weren't too bad either. Speaking of which, this contest almost shows up 2011 for being ridiculously front-loaded with regards to the running order... - Oh go on then, ELENA
February 6, 201213 yr Author I don't think we should change the voting system. Let's just stick to the usual one. Even though I wouldn't mind voting for 19 songs as well. :drama: Plus 5 people already voted.
February 6, 201213 yr reading your comment guys are better than eurovision itself  Anyway, is it too little too late for me to vote in 2003 and 2004
February 6, 201213 yr SpyRZayFGug Ja kom NÄR-marE ett SLAG Hör du MINA ande-TAG? Blodet RUSAR vilt och HETT ja på MÅNGA SKILDA SÄTT. What an UTTER ANTHEM.
February 6, 201213 yr SpyRZayFGug Ja kom NÄR-marE ett SLAG Hör du MINA ande-TAG? Blodet RUSAR vilt och HETT ja på MÅNGA SKILDA SÄTT. What an UTTER ANTHEM. It got twice as many televotes as Las Vegas in the Melodifestivalen final :( Surely a case of choosing the name over the song? I gather Martin is/was quite a huge star there at the time...
February 6, 201213 yr God knows what it was, but Martin certainly wasn't as big a star as Nanne - who, lest we forget, is basically POP ROYALTY, being a daughter-in-law of ABBA. I imagine she was fairly well remembered for the INSANE perfs of Avundsjuk (MF 1998) and Evig kärlek (MF 03) as well...

I imagine she was fairly well remembered for the INSANE perfs of Avundsjuk (MF 1998) and Evig kärlek (MF 03) as well... Being the voice of Den Vilda can't have exactly hindered her cause either... Perhaps he was comparatively more popular at the time. A comparable situation here would be One Direction vs. Victoria Beckham. Posh is the pop royalty, the global star, but you have to assume that if they went up against each other in a UK national final (and how hilariously insane would that be), the screaming girls would ensure that 1D walked it.
February 7, 201213 yr The link you've got for Laura & The Lovers is LT United instead :) Use this instead: Voted by the way :D Edited February 7, 201213 yr by Ryan741
February 7, 201213 yr Author Oopsie. 8 votes so far, including the new addition - AaronTM! :D And this year didn't even have so many black women! :o
February 8, 201213 yr Author It's a damn MIRACLE that I already got 11 votes. It's not even wednesday evening! I will still PM-remind people who won't have voted by Saturday though. One song, that I thought would definitely be one of the qualifiers, adjusted its position after the last few votes (everyone knows you can't take seriously any outcome after first 5 or so votes) and got stuck in 7th. And another song I thought would probably be in the 5-8th region is currently number TWO. CRAZAY. Tirren, don't forget to vote! I'm not used to not seeing your votes in my inbox by the second day of voting, let alone FOURTH.
February 8, 201213 yr Oopsie. 8 votes so far, including the new addition - AaronTM! :D And this year didn't even have so many black women! :o I've been aware of this game, but I thought I'd leave it until the year that I started watching it on TV (though I've only started listening to every entry since 2008) to vote. No surprises at my 12, I'm sure. :D

February 9, 201213 yr One of the better ESC years, shamefully ruined by NTU's lack of audio quality. I'm pretty sure the 6 qualifiers in this will be Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Romania and Switzerland. I will be on the look-out for surprises though! My highlight of this year was Lithuania sending a song with such an infectious Scandipop chorus! Also, the Portuguese broadcaster trying something new and trying to look and sound current and young. Only to be burned by all of that squealing. Votes sent to our favourite Russian.
February 11, 201213 yr Author Reminders sent to everyone except Tirren, as I trust he will vote. Hopefully all 10 people vote.
February 11, 201213 yr Author Qualification zone is 20 points ahead of the rest. Poor excellent #7 :( All #7's are all so damn excellent so far that I'm thinking we should hold a quick Andra Chansen round which would choose two wildcards from the #7's at the end!
February 11, 201213 yr Author WOO. Top 2 is now in the clear lead, 26 points behind #3. 9 points between the qualification zone and the losers court, so it'll take a one good 12 or 10 and none for the competition to change the scene in one move. In the second half of the voting only 5 nul-pointers were pulled out of the pool of misery. 8 still need help.
February 11, 201213 yr I think I was responsible for three or four of those  Most of my faves crashed out of the semis :(
