The (s)laguilera has already missed #1 when everyone expected it to hit the top.

Will her album match up to its reputation? particulary in America is where it'll be interesting to see if it can outdo Mimi's sales....

On a worldwide scale? Possibly.

 

In the US? No.

 

In the UK? Yes.

 

WBT was THE gem off Mimi and that didn't go to #1 but the album still sold shed loads, also It's Like That which was the first single off Mimi only made #4, selling around 75k in total, so it's not always right to judge off the debut single. :P

But nobody was bumming up Mariah for #1 with ILT. :P

I certainly didn't think it would crack top 5.

And ILT only sold about 6k less than Aint No Other Man did its first week :P

TEOM isn't even in my top 5 Mariah albums probably, but I don't think it'll match Mariah's US Sales, and seeing as TEOM has sold about 9.5 million worldwide, I'm not too sure it can match that either :huh:

Christina's album will do very well but it's not a comeback in the sense that 'Mimi' was because Christina has never been unpopular.

Christina's following up 'Stripped' whereas Mariah was following up 'Charmbracelet'.

 

Mimi WAS a good album, I was never a fan before that album, and it hooked me and now I have them ALL. :smoke:

Not so far. But it's early days yet. Christina sold a little over 50k less than Mariah did in Mimi's first week of sales.

Yep she's doing well in alot of places, I don't think it'll outsell Mimi though

it depends on single choices because imagine if beautiful hadnt been released by christina,. i doubt stripped would have reached its peak of 2 over here por even sold as much as it did in us!
