I haven't been too impressed with Christina's latest material. -_- Not as catchy as the material on Stripped so far. She has also been absent for a long period in the music industry. There was a song by Billy Joel called The Entertainer which sums up this point. :) She hasn't been around as long as Mariah.

 

There are a lot of differences between the comebacks which make comparing the two difficult. -_-

Great points everyone, but it's Mariah's US sales of TEOM that will keep her sales above BTB, I prefer BTB to Stripped but it won't sell as much :(

I agree, I love B2B I think it's hands down the best album of this year. Including Beyoncé, Justin, Nelly Furtado etc, etc.

 

It's doing quite well so we'll see. ^_^

Stripped was also seen as more of a change in direction for Christina than her current album. :)

Yep after a massive year of big name releases, there is 1 or 2 good tracks on each album but on the whole I am really dissapointed, Xtina's is easily the best this year! Nelly Furtados is good though

I've liked all of the singles, it's the albums that have let me down. :lol: However I must say that Back To Basics is EASILY the best one. -_-

Oh I think this thread should be relaunched when we see where 'Hurt' charts in a week or so.

 

'Back To Basics' has got off to a slightly slow start in the UK. Perhaps it will not reach the 550k+ sales of 'Mimi'

It will Tim, I am 99% certain it will outsell Mimi... because Hurt is out soon and that will be a massive song worldwide, and will most definatly push album sales right the way up during the christmas period. I am not sure if B2B will outsell Mimi worldwide though..

Will it though? It's not very good IMO. Another version of 'I'm OK' or 'Beautiful'. If she releases five singles from this album (as she did with 'Stripped'), sales should slowly edge towards 600k but I don't see its sales exploding.

Hurt has allready taken off on Itunes, it is top 20 on there... top 40 on download allready and it isn't out for another month... It's doing well :D.. and B2B was up over 10 places this week due to Hurt ^_^

I noticed it was on the iTunes chart today as well. I've no idea why.

Christina's 'comeback' isn't doing a good as Mariah's :(

Time will tell. Christina will release a few more singles from this and one of them could really turn things around.

 

That said, I've hated both her records this year. I don't mind 'Tell Me' but that's not even her song.
