Posted February 8, 201213 yr From Digital Spy: Plan B has announced the title and release date of his new album. iLL Manors marks the singer and rapper's third studio album. It will be released through Atlantic Records on May 7. Plan B - whose real name is Ben Drew - said: "You could call iLL Manors bass-line, soul, hip-hop. "The album has the lyrical depth of my first record but the musical composition is light years ahead as it's informed by everything I've learnt in the last five years - writing, producing and playing with a live band. I feel I'm better than I've ever been." The record will be preceded by the release of the accompanying full-length motion picture, also called iLL Manors. The film, which is written and directed by Drew, is out on May 4. Plan B recently announced a string of forest gigs this summer, kicking off in Suffolk on June 15. Last year, he admitted that he was forced to delay the release of his album The Ballad of Bellmarsh to finish iLL Manors. According to the NME the lead single will be called "My Manor's Ill" and it's a dubstep track. Interested to hear this, obviously won't be big on a Strickland Banks level but should perform reasonably. Ew at the "iLL" thing though. Really?
February 8, 201213 yr 679 are a mess. I love that they are even doing their best to f*** up their only successful artist.
February 12, 201213 yr VERY excited about this, although it'll probably be lucky to even go top ten never mind be another million seller.
February 27, 201213 yr The single: QQb3dFmPfKg Hmm... May take a few listens, I quite it like on first listen - back to his first album!
March 12, 201213 yr OOOOOO it's quite good, and I surprise myself there I was ready to hate it as I loved the DOSB era but I really like it. I doubt it will be anywhere as near successful as the last era if this is a true representation of it, sadly.
March 12, 201213 yr This feels so much like a debut single! It's weird to think it's the same guy who did She Said  It's alright on first listen, but I'm sure it will grow. I can see it debuting in the lower half of the top 10 (#6 or 7?) and falling quite quickly out. The cellos sound very similar to the ones in Sixth Sense by Brown Eyed Girls though :o Edited March 12, 201213 yr by Klumzee
March 12, 201213 yr It's growing, but I still prefer all the Strickland Banks singles. I don't think this era will do anywhere near as well either, this will probably go top 10 and perhaps stick around a bit but it wouldn't do half as well as She Said.... The cellos sound very similar to the ones in Sixth Sense by Brown Eyed Girls though :o They so do, glad I'm not the only one thinking it in my usual fashion of irrational comparison of songs

I love this song. But I'm not getting my hopes up for it doing well commercially. :( Edited March 12, 201213 yr by Eric_Blob
March 12, 201213 yr its surprising to hear after the likes of She Said, but its still really good, I'm not expecting this to take off commercially like his other singles, it just doesn't seem the type of song that fits with the mainstream these days :( Edited March 12, 201213 yr by C.W
March 13, 201213 yr sJIbGS4wI_s I can't believe the existence of this escaped my notice until just now. At the risk of sounding like a deluded loon this is even better than the original version which was already my favourite song of the year so far. Edited March 13, 201213 yr by Bré
