'This Morning' seems to have got Emeli properly back on track after she temporarily fell back when her single version was deleted then! She might get to iTunes #1 now but she has no hope in hell of closing the 20k gap to DJ Fresh in the mids. (Although it should definitely see her comfortably past 100k). It's probably her vs. Gotye for #1 next week then. I'mm be team Emeli as Gotye has already had a week but I do prefer STIUTK as a song so it's a win/win situation really :P

Gotye is now #1 combined.

Hasn't this movie/soundtrack been out for ages? Why are these two songs only just taking off now? In any case it'll be great to finally have the Muppets version of Mah Na Mah Na chart in the UK :kink: Piero Umiliani's version got to #8 in 1977.

No, the movie was only released in the UK last Friday - about four months after the US.

The charts are boring at the moment no big movements until the 12th. Unless the rumours about Rihanna and Chris Brown doing a collab on Birthday Cake are true.

I'd really hope people aren't stupid enough to buy that if it does happen. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world.

:D Get in that top 40 please.

Emeli Sande is very close to going back to #2.
LMFAO's new song is in the top 1000:

635. LMFAO - Sorry For Party Rocking

I think this will be big. A top 10 hit, but not as big as Sexy and I Know It.

ugh. the song is no way near as bad as 'sexy and I know it', but why release this over 'one day'? that song is amazing and made it into the itunes top 100 at one point. -_-

I think One Day even made the top 100 on iTunes twice. It would also be financially better for them to release One Day aswell, since it already has a music video. But listening to One Day, it's a bit "slow". I'm not sure if it'd be as big a hit. And after Champagne Showers flopping nearly everywhere, I think they're probably going for the safer option this time around, even if it isn't as good.

The solo "interlude" version is a very good song, so the full remix will probably be good too (whoever does it). So I could understand people buying it. I hope Rihanna doesn't do that though. As she's my favourite pop star, I don't want her to ruin her career, not to mention, she'd be setting a bad example imo. I hope someone like J Cole does it. He's a great rapper from Rihanna's "crew" and it would be fantastic promotion for him.

Turn Me On is #9 on iTunes... is this the highest it's been?

Yeah, #9 is the highest it got so far. Previously it kept stalling at #10 (which is quite a rare thing to happen ), and last summer it *only* peaked at #11.

I think the mistake with 'champagne showers' was that it hadn't had much airplay. I heard 'party rock anthem' many times on the music channels while it was starting to be come huge, whereas 'champagne showers' I heard about once. not sure about radio but it must have turned out that way. that or it suffered the curse of natalia being on the track. :P

I'd also say that 'one day' is different to each of their three singles from this era so they may as well try something different.

You're right about radio. At least from my experience, it was extremely rare for me to hear Champagne Showers on any station. The chorus is really bad for radio though, since it's very screechy, especially on first listen.

52. Jay-Z & Janye West - Niggas in Paris

65. Tyga - Rack City

70. Drake ft. Lil Wayne - The Motto

The trinity all top 70 now.

I really hope "Ass Back Home" goes to #1 when it gets released on Sunday. One of my favorite songs I've ever actually heard.

Minaj now in red for the first time on Kworb.

I heard the song on Capital last night - I really like it (like 99% of people ), my 2nd favourite of hers behind 'Girls Fall Like Dominoes'.

'Rack City' is doing amazingly well! I hope it can eventually go top 40 alongside Niggas In Paris. The Motto won't go near the top 40 because it's just going to vanish again the second it's put back to 99p.

Has there ever been a time when a song has been released on itunes on a sunday and gone to number 1 on the same day but not gone to number 1 officially the following sunday?
'Starships' is incredibly generic - in a bad way. Nicki had an edge, like Jessie J, but both have gone down the generic electro-pop route just to score a cheap hit. 'Super Bass' remains Nicki's best single so far - with 'Moment 4 Life' second.

I think 'Get Sexy' by the Sugababes did this.

Ditto. But that's what sells!
