Voted! And my 12 is not at all going where everyone would expect it...

Twist Of Love? I'm sure I've seen you raving over it in various parts of the forum over the years.

7 people voted and GOOD GOD, I'm not even going to pretend people are voting for males in this. ONE male act in the Top 10 currently. SHAME ON YOU, BUZZJACK.

It's gotta be Mihai.

It had better be Daz!

Haters can pleasure themselves but Teenage Life was as good a novelty pop track as we'll ever find to enter. A glorious melodic fusion of Where Is The Love and the forgotten second Shanks & Bigfoot single Sing-A-Long fronted by a ridiculous cult figure in the UK cheese dance scene, also behind Bus Stop, Rikki & Daz and Uniting Nations. It was also clear that Daz cared more about Eurovision than the other nine acts we sent in the noughties combined, it was obvious that he was a huge fan of the contest and actually cared about his placing, so it was a shame to see him just scrape into the top 20.

Absolutely adore Teenage Life, I don't even care that the performance looked ridiculous and he looked like any 30-something 'trying to relive his youth' rolling out of Liquid and Envy after a few too many, it all added to the charm. The song's slow climb into the UK top ten was great to see, it was a bonafide hit single - certainly it got quite a bit of support from UK music channels iirc, naturally radio didn't touch it but I'm not sure what Eurovision song they would touch, music snobs that they all are in this country (Radio 2 aside!).

By some margin my favourite UK entry of the 00s, underrated to the max. Jonjo had better vote this time!

I really don't get the hype over Teenage Life. It all sounds so messy to me. Sounds very poorly produced and so cringeworthy too.

I find 2006 the year of the novelty tracks, and "Congratulations" and "We Are The Winners" are so much better at it than Daz' entry. The first for being the epitome of theatricality, the second for being a self-congratulatory anthem almost in an Indie/hipster kind of way. "Teenage Life", however, came across as ear rape both on stage and on the record.

So after 10 votes we have two songs that scored a 12 and nothing else each. :o And only 7 nul-pointers, as opposed to 2005's six, but that was after twice as many votes! One song received 10 points by collecting them from FIVE different people

We might or might not currently have TWO males in the Top 10! :o

What hype? I'm well aware that I'm part of a very rare breed that loves the song  We Are The Winners is the ear rape here, dire to the max, a little pointless and worse still, not half as funny as it thinks it is. I'll give you Congratulations, it was actually a very catchy and well produced song underneath the theatrics, I'd have liked to have seen it in the final.

We Are The Winners was dreadful. Worst song of the 2006 contest easily. I just wanted to scream NO YOU'RE NOT everytime they sung it.

Teenage Life on the other hand

Damnit, I've just fell in love with Anzej Dezan all over again  WHY EUROPE WHY :snif:

I will DEFINITELY be voting for at least half DNQs this time. Belgium, Iceland and Andorra were at least equally robbed.

We Are The Winners is TERRIBLE. Congratulations on the other hand is my personal life anthem.

I think I must reveal that Fabrizio Faniello received votes from at least 2 people.

They undoubtedly should be made to listen to 'I Do' (live ESC version) on repeat for eternity.

Same goes for you in next week's edition when you hand the 12 over to Dervish. Albania should be ashamed for awarding a point to that performance. Defined 'should have been a nul pointer', just as I Do does. Shame because I actually really really liked the studio version!

Dervish. It might not even get my 12. I just know nobody else will vote for it, so what's the point? :( I'd rather help out Bulgaria who will probably need help.

Highlights/lowlights

1. Finland winning. Didn't like the song beforehand but the performance was just... great!

2. All in all a great top 5! Pleased for Bosnia!

3. As mentioned, the horrible auto qualifiers, particularly MALTA  , LATVIA (boring), SWITZERLAND (failed attempt in getting 5x 12 points) and MOLDOVA (the worst stage performance ever - kitchen sink!!)

4. Tina Karol. She is just PERFECT!

5. The Dutch votes lol

6. The absolute horror of the Portuguese entry + singers + singing (one of them was going to sing the refrain an extra time)

7. Silvia Night (hate her or love her)

8. Kate Ryan's elimination. Bad vocals performance but it should've been there instead of LT United or Armenia who gave one of the worst vocal performances!

9. The pregnant Polish lady

10. The magnificent opening show!

How many votes have we got in this Pav? QUALIFIER PREDICTIONS:

05. Belgium // Kate Ryan - Je t'adore

09. Germany // Texas Lightning - No No Never

12. Russia // Dima Bilan - Never Let You Go

20. Norway // Christine Guldbrandsen - Alvedansen

21. Sweden // Carola - Invincible

33. Ukraine // Tina Karol - Show Me Your Love

14. But I'm going to get PMing all the lazy ones. Namely, AaronTM, Hitstastic, Freeze, Jerick, Jonjo, Tom Kay, randomfurlong, Boyan and Aaliyah4Eva.

Jahq, Alexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and others can join too.

GAWD I hope Diva Bilan doesn't qualify. Vile, vile creature.

Anyway, my votes will be in in the next 30 mins :D

Edit: Voted, my top 3 are all DNQs :o

I got a lovely PM from Pavel saying:

So I duly sent my votes earlier today. I didn't know we could vote for DNQ's? :o Urgh, Belguim need some points off me then. I shall resend my votes asap. :o

Dima Bilan's 2006 songs walks over his winning 2008 entry.

I think it's pointless to keep it open for any longer.

So it's CLOSED. Results imminent.
