February 16, 201213 yr Author Both have served up some horrors, but I can confirm that it's neither :o
February 16, 201213 yr :o Narodnozabavni Rock and Legenda were amongst my favourites in 2010! :( I really hope Let' Tmou isn't in the top 10, but I have a sneaking suspicion it might be :( . Copycat must surely be #1!
February 16, 201213 yr I too loved Narodnozabavni Rock from 2010 :( There was something oddly great about it.
February 16, 201213 yr If I were doing this Probka would be my #1, I'm not sure if Rich will be having it that high but I think it's quite likely it'll be top ten...

Copycat must surely be #1! I thought they were both utterly dire :drama: Listening back to them for the purpose of this countdown only reinforced that opinion :( It's not. Didn't make my top 40, I have no opinion on it one way or the other to be honest!
February 16, 201213 yr Author If I were doing this Probka would be my #1, I'm not sure if Rich will be having it that high but I think it's quite likely it'll be top ten... It would be quicker to list Latvia's enjoyable entries! I sort of respect them for sending something completely different each time, but whereas the likes of France and Germany do the same every year, but in a very enjoyable way, Latvia always seem to dabble in the absolute worst genres out there. The only entries of theirs from the past decade that I can say that I really liked are the ever underrated Hello From Mars and the cringetastic but oh so catchy Wolves Of The Sea. A few of them narrowly escaped being in my top 40 though...
February 16, 201213 yr I quite liked Angels In Disguise last year, and for my sins I actually adore What For?.
February 16, 201213 yr I quite liked Angels In Disguise last year Angels in Disguise was FAB FAB FAB. My second favourite last year behind Lena. Or third behind Russia. WHAT A FANTASTIC YEAR!
February 17, 201213 yr Author 10. LT United - We Are The Winners (Lithuania 2006 - 6th in the final) 9. Kraljevi Ulice & 75 Cents - Romanca (Croatia 2008 - 21st in the final) 8. Marko Kon & Milaan - Cipela (Serbia 2009 - 10th in the semi-final) 7. Gjoko Taneski - Jas Ja Imam Silata (Macedonia 2010 - 15th in the semi-final) 6. Kreisiraadio - Leto Svet (Estonia 2008 - 18th in the semi-final) BGhr8HZju6s LRh9PzNYD-8 Wote, wote, wote, wote, wote for the winners! NO. The diabolical 'funny' that was We Are The Winners sadly became Lithuania's most successful Eurovision entry by far in 2006, despite being tipped to fail by almost everyone pre-contest. It got the UK's annual 'comedy 10' and would have got the 12 if not for Lordi, although we always vote big for Lithuania, thanks to the sizeable diaspora here - 12 for C'est Ma Vie in the semi last year  In a contest full of big personalities, it certainly stood out, but it was funnier than it thought it was and was more of a tongue in cheek chant than a song, the only melody slightly resembling the old Live & Kicking theme. Not for me though it has to be said, although the performance was an amusing spectacle I'll give them that much. Croatia decided to send an old man on a bench in 2008...er, yeah, as dire as it sounds, and then some. After two fantastic entries, Serbia went down the $hit route in 2009 and a nation that looked likely to never fail suffered their first DNQ. Deservedly so, but probably not quite seeing as it actually finished 10th in the final - the jury wildcard went to Croatia and Serbia got cruelly booted out. I can't say that I was fussed on the Croatian entry either but it was preferable to this mess. Another awful tuneless Macedonian entry at No.7, this one seems a degree worse than all of the others for some reason! Maybe it's the (h)air (rock) guitar solo at the end, horrible! And onto a novelty entry from a country that should know better at No.6, Estonia's 2008 entry Leto Svet. The same country that had a wonderful run of entries around the turn of the century and still send gems more often than not now. Their Banana Splits theme rip-off was truly unforgivable and crashed out in the semis with a whopping 8 points, 7 of which were from Finland. WHY?
February 17, 201213 yr Author Ah, Macedonia it is! :D Nope! The remaining country is STILL to come, with two horrors in the top five, my poor ears :drama:
February 17, 201213 yr Oh my! God knows what it could be then...Austria? I could see Alf Poier and something like that horrific 2007 entry of theirs making it. Or perhaps Belgium - Copycat and their 2007 entry.
February 17, 201213 yr Author Oh my! God knows what it could be then...Austria? I could see Alf Poier and something like that horrific 2007 entry of theirs making it. Or perhaps Belgium - Copycat and their 2007 entry. Alf actually narrowly missed my top 40, it was awful but had much more of a melody than most of the songs here, which sort of redeemed it somehow. Still a 4/10 at best though  Hell no, I loved Ishtar (Belgium 2007)! edit: no it wasn't that was 2008, whoops! Can't remember their 2007 entry!
February 17, 201213 yr Ishtar was Belgium 2008! Belgium 2007 was that hideous Lovepower thing. But then I'm assuming it isn't that if you'd forgotten it
February 17, 201213 yr Author Nah not LovePower, average and 'misguided' for me, but not awful. I shall give the top five a post of their own though - starting with #5, the first entry from the country with two in the top five...
February 17, 201213 yr Author 5. Witloof Bay - With Love Baby (Belgium 2011 - 11th in the semi-final) v5bPuhyyK_c A true 'how did that happen' moment, this surefire nul pointer made it one point within qualifying for the final last year, although So Lucky getting through instead wasn't much of a consolation! I do appreciate the talent in beatboxing and singing acapella but honestly it's something that I absolutely can't stand to listen to. Latvia 2006 very nearly made it into this top 40 for the same reason but for some reason it was a lot less hateful than this, perhaps because the robot thing on stage was distracting me? I just found this whole song, act and performance very creepy and uncomfortable to watch and/or listen to. The melody goes nowhere and it was a truly awful entry from the country who had sent my 2nd favourite of the year before in Tom Dice's Me & My Guitar (and couldn't that have just been a PERFECT song for Ed Sheeran's album!).
February 17, 201213 yr How did I forget Witloof Bay! Oh very dear at Alexander Rybak calling this the most original track on offer last year...
February 17, 201213 yr Author 4. Michalis Rakintzis - S.A.G.A.P.O. (Greece 2002 - 17th in the final) hIvafFqNAlQ Opa and Watch My Dance are nothing compared to this. After coming third with the fantastic Antique the previous year and laying down their foundations for a fantastic decade ahead, it was almost scuppered a year later when Greece sent a disgusting 80s reject electro song. A real black sheep in their recent back catalogue of entries, I was HORRIFIED when it got the opening 12 of the evening, worried that it was going to somehow romp to victory and leave the Everybody haters wondering what they'd been worrying about the previous year. I then quickly realised that it had been Cyprus voting first and of course the 12 was going to go to Greece. This should have finished last.
